The communication chamber is divided into a first communication chamber and a second communication chamber by a diaphragm.     Abstract: In fuel supply system for an engine in which a discharge port in a fuel pump driven by the engine to draw up fuel in a fuel tank is connected to an inlet port which is provided in a fuel reservoir and which is controlled in opening and closing by a float valve so that the fuel in the fuel reservoir is supplied to the engine, a second discharge port is provided in the fuel pump, and a second inlet port without a float valve is provided in the fuel reservoir. The second discharge port and the second inlet port are connected to each other through a control valve opened during starting of the engine. Thus, when the engine is started, fuel vapor generated in a pump chamber in the fuel pump can be discharged to the fuel reservoir having an air vent, to normalize the function of the fuel pump, leading to an enhancement in hot startability of the engine.

A valve housing is formed by conjoining a body, a partition, and a cover. The partition forms the pressure-reducing chamber between itself and the body and forms a pressure action chamber between itself and the diaphragm. The cover forms the spring chamber between itself and the other surface of the diaphragm and has the peripheral edge of the diaphragm clamped between itself and the partition. The partition has a through hole for allowing the valve stem to run through in an airtight and axially slidable manner and a communicating hole for providing communication between the pressure action chamber and the pressure-reducing chamber.

    Abstract: A gas pressure-reducing valve in which a valve member to be seated on a valve seat having a valve hole opened at its central portion and leading to a pressure-reducing chamber between a body and a diaphragm is fixed on a valve stem connected to the central portion of the diaphragm and arranged coaxially with the valve axis. A bottomed mounting bore which is aligned with the valve axis and opened toward the pressure-reducing chamber is formed in the body. A cylindrical valve seat member forming a valve chamber between itself and the closed end of the mounting bore for accommodating the valve member and inserted into the mounting bore is fixed on the body. A valve seat facing the valve chamber is formed on the inner surface of the end portion of the valve seat member on the side of the pressure-reducing chamber. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the number of parts and to enhance the degree of freedom for the arrangement of the parts in the body.

The valve stem is provided at its end portion on the side of the diaphragm with a fitting stem portion to be fitted in the fitting bore and an externally threaded portion capable of being screwed in the threaded bore and coaxially leading to the fitting stem portion.
