  • Patent number: 7904544
Abstract: An apparatus for estimating a demand for a service offered via a network includes an external-factor storing unit that stores an event for a case in which information relating to the service appears in a predetermined information source on the network, as an external factor affecting the demand; a demand-amount calculating unit that calculates an amount of the demand for the service by determining whether the event as the external factor stored is appeared in the predetermined information source; and a resource-change instructing unit that instructs a change of a resource allocated to the service, according to the amount of the demand calculated.

  • Patent number: 7720949
Abstract: A relay control apparatus is arranged between clients and a CoD system. The relay control apparatus accepts process requests from the clients and stores the process requests. If the CoD system is installing a server in addition to existing servers, the relay control apparatus provides a control so that requests unprocessable with the existing servers are not passed to the CoD system until the installation of the server is completed. When the installation of the server is completed, servers that can process, within a predetermined period, a volume of requests at that time and a volume of requests retained by that time are secured.

  • Publication number: 20100057935
Abstract: A record medium on which a load distribution program capable of dynamically determining a service providing server which can provide a service of high quality according to a place where a client is installed is recorded. A delay time determination section analyzes a request sent from a client, identifies a position on a network of the client, and determines processing delay time the client takes to receive a response from each data center on the basis of a communication path between the position of the client and a position on the network of each data center. An allocation determination section preferentially selects a data center which can provide a service to the client after shortest processing delay time as a recommended data center on the basis of the processing delay time determined by the delay time determination section. A service allocation section makes a server in the recommended data center provide the service to the client which outputted the request.

  • Patent number: 7487536
Abstract: In a system that dynamically assigns software to a plurality of servers to perform customer services, an index to which there have been integrated the newness of a customer's software and the security level of the software is calculated, and whether the calculated index satisfies restricting conditions is checked. If the calculated index does not satisfy the restricting conditions, revision information is applied to the software.

  • Publication number: 20060161641
Abstract: A computer-readable medium storing a computer program for controlling relay of a client request from a client terminal to a server. The computer program includes instructions for causing a computer to execute determining a process corresponding to the client request, based on both an allowable waiting time for which the client terminal allows to wait for a response corresponding to the client request from the server and on a capacity of the server, and processing the client request, based on a result of the determination.
