    Abstract: A printing control apparatus suppresses information leaking due to a print job being printed when the user is not at the printer. A printing control apparatus that connects to a terminal and a printer has: a communicator configured to receive from the terminal a specified-printer job, which is a print job for which the printer is designated as a print destination; and a controller. If the specified-printer job is not confidential, the controller sends print data based on the specified-printer job to a specified printer, which is the printer designated as the print destination in the specified-printer job. If the specified-printer job is confidential, the controller receives authentication information input to the printer from the printer and executes an authentication process based on the authentication information, and sends the print data to an authenticated printer according to a result of the authentication process.

When the manner of installation does not correspond to the update installation, the display controller selects a second display setting for causing the display unit to display a second user interface screen corresponding to the second program.

    Abstract: A printing apparatus with a plug-and-play execution unit includes a plug-and-play control unit and a permission receiving unit. The plug-and-play execution unit can perform predetermined communication processing with an external control apparatus, and the predetermined communication processing is triggered by a connection with the control apparatus when the connection is established via a predetermined communication path. The plug-and-play control unit is configured to prohibit the plug-and-play execution unit from operating in a case where an instruction for activating the printing apparatus according to a specific operation mode is received from an outside source, so that the plug-and-play execution unit is prevented from performing the communication processing. The permission receiving unit is configured to receive permission for execution of plug and play.
