A shield electrode is disposed in the peripheral area on the outside the detection area, and a driving circuit for driving the pixel electrodes and wires connecting the pixel electrodes are provided on the other face of the insulating film. The driving circuit may be provided in the peripheral area. The wires disposed in the peripheral area are shielded by the shield electrode to prevent electrostatic breakdown even when a large current flows through a photoelectric converting film, thereby to improve reliability by preventing dielectric breakdown and to accommodate a large dynamic range of incident light.

  • Patent number: 6057898
Abstract: Large size flat display panels are used in many technical fields, with television (TV) sets, personal computers (PCs) and advertising equipment. A multiple panel display device has been developed which employs a plurality of separate flat-surface display panel modules united by adhesion together into a matrix array of rows and columns. Juncture sections of the panels have non-displayable regions between adjacent ones of the panels. To avoid seam lines visible to the human eye, the seams are minimized in width. To this end, the peripheral ends of display panels are provided with a concave/projection configuration or gap for limiting excessive expansion of a sealing material used. This significantly reduces the width of such non-display region at the juncture section of neighboring display panels bonded together.

  • Patent number: 5943033
Abstract: White opaque fixed films in a fixed section are arranged in a two-dimensional matrix. On each fixed film, a cyan transparent film, a magenta transparent film, and a yellow transparent film that constitute a pixel are placed. By electrostatic force, these transparent films are driven and placed under the fixed film of an adjacent pixel, thereby controlling the color of the pixel. To generate electrostatic force, the fixed film and transparent film are provided with electrodes and an insulating film is inserted between these two films. The consecutive reversing of the polarity of both electrodes enables the transparent film to move in parallel with the fixed section. To achieve half tone display and no power consumption in displaying a still picture, an electrostatic mechanical latch mechanism that stops the film still in motion is employed.

  • Patent number: 5930806
Abstract: A data migration system that enables a database system to migrate from a network data model to a relational data model in a short development time, without degradation in data integrity. A record migration unit creates target records for the relational data model. The records are arranged in the same way as they originally were in the network data model before data migration has been made. A primary key addition unit then adds a primary key to each of the target records so that they can be uniquely identified. To preserve the original parent-child relationships between records, a relation key addition unit selects each child record from among the target records, identifies the parent of the child record by referring to the pointers added to corresponding source records, and gives a value of the primary key of the parent record to the child record as a relation key thereof.
