  • Patent number: 9475343
Abstract: A sealing device includes a core metal that is fitted to the outer ring, and a sealing member that is fixed to the core metal. The core metal has a cylindrical portion that is fitted to the inner periphery of an end portion of the outer ring, an outer annular portion, and an inner annular portion. The sealing member has a covering portion that covers the outer annular portion and the cylindrical portion, and a space is formed between the covering portion and the flange. The sealing member further has an inner lip portion, and an outer lip portion. The covering portion has a deformed portion used to enlarge the space to suppress stagnation of water in the space.

  • Publication number: 20100125715
Abstract: To efficiently assign storage resources to storage areas in a well-balanced manner in terms of performance and capacity, provided is a storage system in which, for a storage apparatus including a disk array group providing a logical volume to be assigned to an application, a storage management unit holds the throughput, response time, and storage capacity of the array group; receives performance density being a ratio between a throughput and a storage capacity, and a requirement on a storage capacity required for the logical volume; and assigns the throughput to the logical volume on the basis of the received performance density and the capacity requirement with the throughput of the array group set as an upper limit, and assigns, to the logical volume, a storage area determined on the basis of the assigned throughput and the received capacity requirement.

  • Publication number: 20090138884
Abstract: A storage management system provides a capability of properly setting a performance monitoring threshold and monitoring a performance of a storage resource in the SAN environment with respect to the operation process being executed. The storage management system includes a management server, a storage device, a storage network, and a management server. The management server is arranged to have a performance information collecting unit for collecting the current performance value of a storage resource, a composition section determining unit for determining a composition section corresponding with a composition ratio of the operation processes, a threshold information storage unit for storing a performance monitoring threshold corresponding with the composition section with respect to one or more storage devices, and a performance determining unit for determining a performance of the storage resource based on the current performance value and the performance monitoring threshold.

  • Publication number: 20070294562
Abstract: A SAN management method in which a host to which an application should be shifted can be decided so that the influence of data transfer load is eliminated as extremely as possible. To shift an application A operating on a host A to another host, a management server performs a data load conversion process S to predict data transfer load on the SAN in the case where the application will be shifted to a host B or C. The management server also performs a bottleneck analyzing process on each resource on the SAN. The management server further performs a destination host decision process on the basis of a result of the bottleneck analyzing process to decide a non-bottlenecked host as a destination host to which the application A should be shifted.
