  • Publication number: 20140139757
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form includes a liquid crystal display panel which includes: a first substrate, a second substrate, and liquid crystal sealed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate includes detection electrodes for a touch panel. Each of the pixels has a pixel electrode and a counter electrode. The counter electrode is divided into a plurality of blocks. The counter electrode in each of the divided blocks is provided in common for the respective pixels in a plurality of consecutive display lines. The counter electrode in each of the divided blocks doubles as a scanning electrode for the touch panel. The liquid crystal display device includes means which, in a low-power standby mode, detects the presence of a touch by using only the plural detection electrodes.
