Publication number: 20110222126Abstract: An ejection part (3) in an inkjet printer (1) has ejection mechanisms (31a to 31d) for ejecting fine droplets of colored ink and an ejection mechanism (32) for ejecting fine droplets of clear ink, and a colored image is formed on a colored image print area of print medium (9) by the ejection mechanisms (31a to 31d). By the ejection mechanism (32), the colored image on the print medium (9) is coated with the clear ink and a code image is formed on a blank area around the colored image print area. In the inkjet printer (1), since the coating of the colored image and the forming of the code image are performed with the same clear ink ejected from the one ejection mechanism (32), improvement of wear resistance and improvement of security of the colored image can be achieved while reducing manufacturing cost of the apparatus of the inkjet printer (1).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2010Publication date: September 15, 2011Applicant: DAINIPPON SCREEN MFG. Patent number: 7158256Abstract: An image recorder and a method of recording an image on a printing plate are provided. A punch unit for forming punched holes and the like for use in a printing apparatus in the printing plate positions the printing plate by bringing a pair of reference pins into contact with an edge of the printing plate, and punches the printing plate. Next, the printing plate is transferred to a recording drum in the image recorder for image recording. The recording drum is provided with positioning pins mounted upright in substantially the same location as the reference pins of the punch unit. Thus, a portion of the edge of the printing plate which made contact with the reference pins of the punch unit is also brought into contact with the positioning pins of the recording drum. Therefore, the positional relationship between the punches holes for printing and the recorded image is held constant without being affected by an undulation or swell on the edge of the printing plate.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2003Date of Patent: January 2, 2007Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shiro Kitawaki, Kazuma Kan, Arifumi Omoto

Patent number: 7088384Abstract: An image recorder includes a punch unit for punching a hole in a plate. The punch unit has six punchers disposed movably. Punches of the punchers can punch holes of different configurations. A punch of a required configuration moves to a required location toward a plate prepared on an upper tray of a feed/discharge unit. After a hole is punched in the plate by this punch, the plate is fed to a drum. This allows changes in the location of a punched hole in the plate without the need to simply increase the number of punchers when the range of plate sizes mountable on the drum is expanded. If competition in punch standards occurs, the image recorder allows a required puncher to be situated in a desired location.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2003Date of Patent: August 8, 2006Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuma Kan, Arifumi Omoto

Patent number: 7055432Abstract: An image recorder of an external drum type includes a feed/discharge unit located above a drum and having an upper tray and a lower tray. The upper tray is inclined so that an edge thereof on the front side of an image recorder body is downward or at a lower level. For placing a plate on the upper tray, the plate is fed over the lower edge of the tray onto the tray. The upper tray has a movable suction pad for raising the plate. The image recorder of the external drum type can easily feed a large-size image recording material or plate over an upper edge of the inclined tray onto the tray.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2004Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 6889976Abstract: An image recorder is provided. For mounting two plates on a drum, two side-to-side adjustment sections are used. Each of the side-to-side adjustment sections includes an outer nut portion and an inner nut portion movable by respective ball screws in a first direction perpendicular to a second direction in which the plates are fed. When a plate is fed with reference to the center of the drum as seen in the first direction, the inner nut portion is pivoted about the corresponding ball screw aside to a location such as not to hinder the movement of the plate. Thus, when a plurality of side-to-side adjustment sections are provided for side-to-side adjustment of plates, at least one of the side-to-side adjustment sections which is not in use is prevented from interfering with the plates.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2003Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 6334392Abstract: A recording drum has a clamp groove extending in its circumferential direction formed on its outer peripheral surface. A plurality of front end clamps are attached to the outer peripheral surface of the recording drum. Rear end clamps are attached so as to be movable and so as to be fixable along the clamp groove on the outer peripheral surface of the recording drum. A recording head is disposed ahead of the recording drum, and a clamp driving device is disposed behind the recording drum. The clamp driving device comprises a first driving device for fixing the front end clamps and fixing and releasing the rear end clamps and a second driving device for releasing the front end clamps. The front end clamps and the rear end clamps reliably fix a front end and a rear end of a plate to the outer peripheral surface of the recording drum by a reaction force produced by a spring and a centrifugal force produced by the rotation of the recording drum.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2000Date of Patent: January 1, 2002Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 4870454Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of stabilizing the quantity of light of a fluorescent lamp employed for illuminating an original to be duplicated or the like. The quantity of light of a fluorescent lamp reflected by a reference plane is detected, when scanning of an original is started, to control tube current of the fluorescent lamp on the basis of a detection signal, to thereby perform feedback control so that a detected light quantity value reaches a constant value. When the detected light quantity value reaches a prescribed value, the feedback control is released and the detected light quantity value is held to control the tube current of the fluorescent lamp on the basis of the held detected light quantity value. Thus, the tube current of the fluorescent lamp is adjusted to be constant on the basis of the held detected light quantity value during a scanning interval for the original to be duplicated, whereby the quantity of light of the fluorescent lamp is stabilized.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg.
