    Abstract: A payment making system comprises an electronic cash register and a payment making terminal device connected to the register and is adapted for use with a bank card issued by a bank to a person having a deposit account with the bank. The bank card has recorded therein at least data relating to the account number of the holder of the card, data relating to the bank where the account is opened and data for identifying the holder. The case register comprises a keyboard for entering data relating to goods and including the prices of the goods and a first card reader for reading the data in the bank card and calculates the total sum of the prices entered as the sum payable. The terminal device is connected to and communicates with a control center provided with a file having stored therein data relating to the accounts of users and stores and with the function of transferring sums payable from users' account to stores' accounts.

    Abstract: A transaction payment system including a central processing system. The central processing system has an account file including a file portion having stored therein data relating to the accounts of users and a file portion having stored therein data relating to the accounts of stores, and an outstanding transaction file for storing outstanding transaction data. The central processing system comprises a CPU for checking with the transaction data on the outstanding transaction file whether a predetermined period of indulgence has elapsed from the date of each transaction. The sum of transaction involving lapse of the indulgence period and included in the transaction data on the outstanding transaction file is withdrawn from the corresponding user account on the account file and stored in the corresponding store account thereon.

    Abstract: A deposit mode for inserting cash into an inserting opening for cash deposit and an envelope deposit mode for putting cash into an envelope and inserting the envelope into an opening for deposit are selectively set by a transaction mode setting unit. In the cash deposit mode, acceptance of cash inserted into the inserting opening for deposit is judged by a judgement unit. A deposit mode processing unit is provided to effect deposit processing for acceptable cash and to effect return processing for unacceptable cash which is not capable of being transacted, in accordance with the result of the judgement. An inquiry is made by a display unit to a depositor concerning whether or not returned money will be deposited in an envelope. In the envelope deposit mode, a request instructing unit instructs a client to input a value for an amount of cash to be placed into an envelope.
