  • Publication number: 20040181689
Abstract: A peer-to-peer communication apparatus connected to an IP network acquires, from a peer's communication apparatus, presence information including information for judging a communication security environment of the peer's communication apparatus and a security policy to be applied by the peer's communication apparatus to a packet, displays the presence information and security policy information such that a user can judge the prosperity of the security policy information based on the presence information, and processes a data packet to be transmitted to the peer's communication apparatus in accordance with the security policy approved by the user.

  • Publication number: 20040165587
Abstract: A session relay apparatus for preventing the packet relay delay by detecting the start and end of the policy settable peer-to-peer communication is disclosed. The session relay apparatus for relay a session control message transmitted and received between communication terminals to control the peer-to-peer communication detects the start and end of the communication from the session control message, and acquires the information for identifying a session and the information on the peer-to-peer communication carried out on the session. Upon generation of a policy indicating the packet relay control process by a policy generating unit, edge nodes for passing the packet are searched for and the policy is distributed to the edge nodes. The policy is set in the edge nodes accommodating the communication terminals at the start of communication, and the policy setting is canceled at the end of communication.

  • Patent number: 6778661
Abstract: The multimedia call distribution system maintains call connection devices, a multimedia call distribution device, and terminal devices. When a call connection request is received, each of the call connection devices issues an inquiry to the multimedia call distribution device about a terminal device to which a call is to be connected. The call connection device connects the call to the terminal device as a response to the inquiry by the multimedia call distribution device The multimedia call distribution device monitors communication conditions of each terminal device about respective types of media, and selects one terminal device that can preform real-time communication and informs the call connection device that has issued the inquiry of the selected device as a response, when the inquiry is received from the call connection device, and when a type of media of the call connected by the call connection device that has issued the inquiry is a type of media that preform real-time communication.

  • Publication number: 20040024909
Abstract: The storage device is provided with a synchronization controller to realize synchronization control of information for the other storage devices when information is updated. This synchronization controller is further provided with a synchronization level registration table for registration and management of synchronization levels for every class of information and a synchronization interval registration table for registration and management of synchronization intervals of information pieces for the synchronization levels. Consequently, a load of communications may be alleviated by realizing common sharing/synchronization of information pieces among different systems and particularly by realizing loose common sharing/synchronization of information pieces depending on the characteristics of the information.

  • Publication number: 20040001480
Abstract: The usage of communication systems is improved. An IM server 4 manages presence information regarding each of IM clients and usable media and user information such that each of the IM clients can obtain these kinds of information. In order to perform text chatting, the IM server 4 manages a connection between each of the IM clients participating the chat and the IM server 4, merges text from each of the participating IM clients and distributes the result to each of the participating IM clients. In order to perform voice chatting, an AP server 5 manages a connection between each of the IM clients participating the chat and an MD server 6, mixes voice from each of the participating IM clients except for a focused IM client and distributes the result to the focused participating IM clients. This processing is performed for each of the participating IM clients.

  • Patent number: 6275977
Abstract: In an application cooperation apparatus for supporting configuration/reconfiguration of a business process support system, node class object information defining a logical AP object as an object class for each common process item and attribute and defining an inheritance relationship between object classes as a tree structure is provided to define interactively with a user a logical process model having logical AP objects as business components. Next, by referring to logical-physical object correspondence relationship information, an implementation process model for the logical process model is developed to generate execution control scripts in a definition language of this model.

  • Patent number: 5905495
Abstract: A communication system which can communicate with a party user even when an originator user of a communication terminal does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of the party user with whom the originator user wants to communicate. When its own user A does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of a user B, a communication terminal of the user A sends an outgoing file having its own terminal address stored therein as an electronic mail directed to the user B. When receiving the outgoing file as the electronic mail, the communication terminal of the user B displays an icon on its display unit to prompt the user B to enter an instruction of performing reply communication. In response to it, when the user B clicks a mouse on the icon, the communication terminal of the user B can perform the reply communication to the communication terminal corresponding to terminal address stored in the outgoing file.

  • Patent number: 5856825
Abstract: A multimedia mail system and a method thereof generates a message including comments or notes on a background picture using voice and drawing data. The message is sent to a destination terminal using a mail system, and then is regenerated. The voice and drawing data of the received message is synchronized in the same time relation as that used for generation of the message.

  • Patent number: 5832217
Abstract: A communication system having a plurality of communication terminals which perform data communication with each other through a communication network. Each communication terminal includes a refusing time zone registration unit for registering a time zone in which the communication terminal will not accept a communication request from the other communication terminals, a present time acquisition unit for acquiring a present time when a communication request is received from a communication request transmitting terminal, and a judgment unit for judging whether the communication request has been received during the registered time zone by comparing the acquired present time to the registered time zone. The communication terminal further includes a communication refusing signal issuance unit for issuing a communication refusing signal automatically to the communication request transmitting terminal when it is judged that the communication request has been received during the registered time zone.

  • Patent number: 5758082
Abstract: In mail terminal equipment for receiving and reproducing a mail which has been produced using multi-media data containing a plurality of continuous audio data and a plurality of drawing data synchronized with at least a part of the audio data and has been transmitted thereto. Where reproduction of the drawing data is later than that if the audio data, the drawing data is synchronized with the audio data without interrupting reproduction of the audio data. When the drawing data still remains which at certain timing (e.g., timing when supplementing the audio data to a audio buffer for storing the audio data waiting for reproduction), should be reproduced until that time point, but is not reproduced resulting from the delay of reproduction of the drawing data due to the drawing processing, the loading situation and the like, the drawing data of interest is skipped so as not to be reproduced, and the next drawing data is reproduced.
