Abstract: The user terminal 110 executes a search condition input tool 111 according to sample video data stored therein beforehand to create a first media feature value 121 (correct feature value) to be assumed as a reference for searching for a media recognition site. The media recognition server 150 recognizes the sample video 119 and transmits a second media feature value that is a result of the recognition to the user terminal. The user terminal 110 then compares the correct feature value created beforehand with the second media feature value that is a result of the recognition executed at the media recognition server to select a media recognition site that executes the recognition processing according to a user's request.

Abstract: In a database management method for managing a file defined externally of a database under the control of a database management system, registration of a management object file and a record indicating a storage location of the management object file is requested and a general user is restrained from accessing the management object file. A process of setting information indicating the storage location of the management object file in a record is called, the record set with the storage location of the management object file through the process is written to the database, and information indicative of the storage location of the management object file is set in a record, thereby ensuring that matching between the record in the database and the management object file managed by the record can be maintained.
