    Abstract: A novel methacrylic resin shaped article is made of novel compositions comprising (A) 80 to 99.9% by weight of methyl methacrylate polymer or copolymer, which forms continuous phase, and (B) 0.1 to 20% by weight of a polymer obtained from at least one unsaturated monomer of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is H or methyl group and R.sub.2 is a hydrocarbon radical of at least two carbon atoms, a derivative or monomer mixture thereof, the respective refractive indexes (n.sub.A) and (n.sub.B) of said (A) and (B) polymers satisfying the relation of 0.998.ltoreq.n.sub.B /n.sub.A .ltoreq.1.002. The above shaped article has a latent mat surface, which therefore may be converted to a mat surface merely by means of stretching at a temperature above heat distortion temperature.

    Abstract: A flame-resistant resin composition consisting essentially of 100 parts by weight of polytetramethylene terephthalate, 3 to 40 parts by weight of a flame retardant represented by the general formula, ##SPC1##Wherein n + m is a number of 0 to 10; X is a bromine or chlorine atom; and i, j, k and l are individually an integer of 1 to 4, and antimony trioxide, the weight ratio of said flame retardant to said antimony trioxide being in the range of from 0.25 to 6. This composition is excellent in mechanical properties, thermal properties and moldability, and causes no spread of fire to other materials even when dripped at the time of combustion.
