    Abstract: A press-fit terminal includes an end part that is to be inserted into a through-hole of a circuit board. The end part is connected electrically to the through-hole by being in elastic contact with an inner wall of the through-hole. The press-fit terminal also includes a base part opposite to the end part. Two elastic contact pieces are between the end part and the base part and are disposed to face each other through an opening. A stress dispersion part is provided in at least one of a region that includes a border between the end part and the elastic contact pieces and a region that includes a border between the base part and the elastic contact pieces. The stress dispersion part protrudes in the same direction as an expanding direction in which the elastic contact pieces expand.

The terminal is made of a different kind of metal from the core of the wire. The housing accommodates the terminal in the through hole. The wire connecting portion includes an exposed portion not covered with the sealing resin and unexposed portions covered with the sealing resin. The exposed portion is positioned between the unexposed portions in a front and rear direction, thereby protecting the wire connecting portion from electrolytic corrosion. The exposed portion is obtained after the sealing resin is worn by being rubbed against an inner wall of the through hole.

A solder seal (30) is formed of solder having a main component with an ionizing tendency close to that of the terminal fitting. The wire barrel (25) is crimped to the core wire (11) exposed by peeling off the insulation coating (13) of the aluminum electric wire (10) and partially sealed with the solder. A seal connection portion (14) connects the insulation coating (13), the exposed core wire (11) and the solder seal (30) to each other in a condition where the coating (13) and the solder seal (30) are sealed off from each other.
