Patent number: 9972903Abstract: A communication device includes an antenna unit, a switch unit, a matching unit which is connected between the antenna and switch units, a communication unit which is connected to the switch unit, and a switch control unit. When the switch unit is in a conductive state, the matching unit matches a first impedance occurring if the antenna unit is seen from the matching unit and a second impedance occurring if the switch unit is seen from the matching unit. The switch control unit controls the switch unit so that the switch unit is set to the conductive state when the communication unit communicates via the antenna unit, and so that the switch unit is set to an interrupted state when the communication unit is to be protected from overvoltage. The switch control unit and switch unit are semiconductors formed under a first process rule and second process rule, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2014Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: TOKIN CORPORATIONInventors: Kazumasa Makita, Masaki Kurimoto, Koji Sato, Masashi Mori

Patent number: 9837858Abstract: A power reception device includes a power reception antenna, a rectifier circuit, a communication section, a switch and a switch control section. The rectifier circuit converts electric power received by the power reception antenna into direct current voltage. The communication section communicates via the power reception antenna. The switch is connected between the power reception antenna and the communication section. The switch can transition between a conductive state where the communication section is electrically connected to the power reception antenna and a cut-off state where the communication section is electrically disconnected from the power reception antenna. The switch control section performs transition of the switch into the cut-off state when the direct current voltage exceeds a first threshold. The switch control section performs transition of the switch into the conductive state when the direct current voltage falls below a second threshold different from the first threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2013Date of Patent: December 5, 2017Assignee: TOKIN CORPORATIONInventor: Kazumasa Makita

Patent number: 9819199Abstract: This power reception apparatus is provided with a non-contact power reception antenna, a power supply unit, a communication antenna, a communication unit that performs communication via the communication antenna, a communication switch, and a switch control unit. The power supply unit outputs an output voltage corresponding to power received via the power reception antenna. The communication switch can transit between an electrically connected state wherein the communication unit is electrically connected to the communication antenna, and a disconnected state wherein the communication unit is disconnected from the communication antenna. The switch control unit makes the communication switch transit to the disconnected state when the output voltage of the power supply unit is increased over a first voltage, and the switch control unit makes the communication switch transit to the electrically connected state when the output voltage is reduced to below a second voltage that is lower than the first voltage.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: November 14, 2017Assignee: TOKIN CORPORATIONInventor: Kazumasa Makita

Publication number: 20150280429Abstract: A communication apparatus includes: a communication antenna, a communication unit which can transmit and receive signals, a switch connected between the communication antenna and the communication unit and composed of a semiconductor switch, a switch control unit, and a high-voltage output means. The switch, when receiving a connection command signal causes the communication unit to be electrically connected with the communication antenna, and when not receiving the signal cuts them off. The switch control unit outputs the signal to the switch under prescribed conditions, and stops the signal when overvoltage applied to the communication unit is detected. The high-voltage output means, connected between the switch control unit and the switch, sets voltage of the signal received from the switch control unit to a voltage at which the communication unit in a transmitting mode would not be cut off from the communication antenna, and outputs the voltage to the switch.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2014Publication date: October 1, 2015Applicant: NEC TOKIN CORPORATIONInventors: Kazumasa Makita, Junetsu Urata, Yuichi Sakurai, Koji Sato, Masashi Mori, Masaki Kurimoto
