Abstract: An SDDI signal in accordance with an AV signal is selectively recorded in an MO disc 6 of a portable AV editing apparatus 1 from a hybrid recorder 20 provided with an on-line editing function. The user carries the portable AV editing apparatus 1 around separate from the hybrid recorder 20 and uses the SDDI signal recorded in the MO disc 6 to perform off-line editing and prepare an EDL (edit decision list). This EDL is transmitted from the field to the station. The EDL is used for on-line editing at the station.

Abstract: An information signal transmitting system for transmitting information signals including video and audio signals over a transmission line has a transmitting apparatus for transmitting information signals, and a receiving apparatus for receiving information signals transmitted from the transmitting apparatus. The transmitting apparatus having a recording start and stop command signal generator for generating a recording start command signal and a recording stop command signal, and a transmitter for transmitting an information signal which needs to be saved in the receiving apparatus, with a recording start command signal inserted therein for at least a predetermined period of time, and transmitting an information signal which does not need to be saved in the receiving apparatus, with a recording stop command signal inserted therein for at least a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: An editing control apparatus for use with first and second video tape recording and/or reproducing apparatuses, each employing a video tape having time code signals and control signals recorded thereon and which is advanced at a predetermined forward speed for recording and reproducing a video signal thereon, comprises first and second time code readers for reading the time code signals on the video tapes, first and second control signal readers for reading the control signals on the video tapes, and a control unit for controlling the video tape recording and/or reproducing apparatuses in response to the time code signals and the control signals to position the video tapes at respective preroll points by rewinding each of the video tapes at a first speed substantially greater than the predetermined forward speed to first predetermined points, and thereafter rewinding the respective video tapes at a second speed substantially less than the forward speed to the respective preroll points.

Abstract: An editing controller for video tape recorders has a return/jump key which enables an operator to check and quickly correct continuities of two takes for video images. The return/jump key functions to return the tape position to a cut-in point during preview operation, and to jump the tape position towards a cut-out during review operation.
