  • Patent number: 5261832
Abstract: A socket for an electric part has a socket body, and the socket body has a push-up spring for exerting an upward force to an electric part. A group of push-down contacts operated to be placed in pressure contact with a group of terminals of the electric part exert downward forces on the terminal. The downward forces of the push-down contacts are set to be larger than the upward force of the push-up spring. The push-down contacts, when placed in pressure contact with the terminals of the electric part, push down the terminals of the electric part while biasing the push-up spring and slidedly moving along the surfaces of the terminals of the electric part.

  • Patent number: 5213530
Abstract: A three-way nip contact type contactor has first, second and third contacting pieces connected together at their base end portions and arranged side by side in rows extending toward their top end portions. The first and second contacting pieces are arranged to form two sides of a triangle and the third contacting piece is arranged to form the remaining side. A male terminal is nipped by and among the first through third contacting pieces to obtain a contacting relation between the male terminal and each of the first through third contacting pieces. The third contacting piece is provided at its top end portion with a pressure bearing portion. The third contacting piece, when an external force is applied to the pressure bearing portion, is displaced in an opening direction against its elasticity to permit the male terminal to be inserted into and among the first through third contacting pieces.

  • Patent number: 5195903
Abstract: A socket is disclosed in which a contacting portion of a contact can be displaced outwardly in order to facilitate an easy insertion or removal of an electric part such as an IC. A contacting portion of a contact is displaced inwardly in order to obtain an electrical contact between a contacting point of the electric part and the contacting portion. The contact includes a hook-shaped latch portion extending in a direction opposite the contacting portion and extending downwardly. An acting portion of a pivotal lever is brought into contact engagement with an inner surface of the hook-shaped latch portion, and the acting portion exerts an outward tensile force against the latch portion of the pivotal lever while being pivoted in the inner surface of the hook portion. This causes outward displacement of the contacting portion such that the contacting portion is removed from the contacting point of the electric part.
