  • Patent number: 7695670
Abstract: An in-die cover forming method for integrally forming a cover member with a surface of a base member in a die is provided. The die including an upper die half and a lower die half. The upper die halves are movable relative to each other. The base member is set on the lower die half such that its back is opposed to the lower die half. Using position determining mechanisms located between the lower die half and the back of the base member, the position of the surface of the base member in relation to the lower die half in the die moving direction is determined. The cover member is placed between the base member and the upper die half. The cover member is integrated with the surface of the base member by closing the upper die half with respect to the lower die half while pressing the cover member against the base member through vacuuming.

  • Patent number: 7435366
Abstract: In a molded product, at least an opening end, forming a window frame of a window formed as a part of a molded subassembly, is fastened integrally to a skin of the molded subassembly. Alternatively, a decorative component part is disposed on an outer periphery of the window so that a parting line between the decorative component part and the skin is visible as being joined closely in a decorative surface of the completed molded product. Processes for manufacturing the same are disclosed as well.

  • Publication number: 20060066010
Abstract: A mold having a molding cavity and a plurality of gates for injecting molding material into the cavity is prepared. The mold has a leakage suppressing portion for suppressing leakage of the molding material to a clearance of the mold. The gates include gates of different distances from the leakage suppressing portion. As the molding material, a material the fluidity of which is a spiral flow length of 20 to 70 cm is prepared. The injection pressure of the molding material from the gates of the different distances from the leakage suppression portion is equalized. The gate that is farther from the leakage suppressing portion is caused to first start injecting the molding material into the molding cavity.

  • Patent number: 6811735
Abstract: A method for forming tear lines in the rear side of an automobile interior article having a cover portion being developed from which an airbag inflates. When either an automobile interior article body having an integrally molded surface portion or an automobile interior article surface portion is to be molded, the mold is opened after tear line forming projections are moved forward and backward with the mold closed. Thus, the tear lines can be formed at the molding time without any visible extrusion marks of the tear line forming projections on the front surface side (the design face).

  • Patent number: 6594862
Abstract: An attachment portion is formed of a synthetic resin material integrally with both ends of a grip body formed of a synthetic resin. A pair of concave portions opposed to each other are provided on an outer peripheral surface of a resin layer forming a hollow portion provided through gas injection in an almost central part in longitudinal direction of the grip body, thereby reducing a volume of the hollow portion and increasing a thickness of the resin layer to enhance a rigidity.

  • Patent number: 6464577
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a register for ventilating air includes molding a deflector member having a plurality of shafts and a plurality of first deflector plates. The deflector member is made from a first resin. A connector member, which holds the plurality of shafts rotatably and connects the first deflector plates swingably, is molded from a second resin that possess characteristics that prohibit it from fusing with the first resin. Next, a frame-shaped member, made from a third resin and having a plurality of second deflector plates, is molded by the process. Then, the deflector member, which includes the connector member, is assembled with the frame-shaped member. A knob for operating the first deflector plates can be molded integrally with one of the first deflector plates.

  • Patent number: 6443831
Abstract: A method includes molding a set of deflector plates in a first mold with a first material, removing the deflector plates from the mold, and placing the deflector plates in a second mold, molding a duct to the deflector plates in the second mold using a second material. The molding includes forming an engaging rim in the duct for connecting the duct to another duct, and removing the deflector plates and the duct from the second mold. The deflector plates pivot with respect to the duct when the molding of the duct is finished.

  • Patent number: 5395582
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for producing a hollow molded product having a thick part free from a thin part or defect. According to the method, a mold is designed to have a cavity for a hollow molded product having a bent portion such as an assist grip. This mold is provided with dams mounted in a gas passage around an in-course in the bent forming portion. When injecting fluid into the already injected resin in the cavity, the dams are so designed to function in guiding the resin to flow between the dam and an out-course of the cavity. By this method, sufficient amount of the resin remains around the in-course so as to form a thick part of the hollow molded product.
