  • Patent number: 6804508
Abstract: Portable communication terminal 101 of the present invention comprises time counting means 103 for counting a call duration on the basis of a state of connection with a called party, table 115 in which correspondence between the recognition code specifing at least one additional message and said called party is previously registered, selecting means 107 for previously holding a recognition code corresponding to an additional message to be transmitted to a called party and outputting the held recognition code on the basis of the counted call duration, and control means 109 for reading an additional message on the basis of the outputted recognition code, in order to automatically transmit an additional message to a called party in place of a calling party on the basis of a call duration.

  • Patent number: 6217095
Abstract: A hand strap for a portable apparatus is disclosed which can be easily and surely held by hand, prevents the apparatus from being dropped by accident, and reduces the cost. The hand strap is made up of a strap body implemented by one or two strings or strips anchored to the engaging portion of the apparatus, and a stop capable of being locked to the strap body at any desired position. The hand strap can therefore be held without requiring the user to put the user's hand in a loop. This allows the user to safely carry the apparatus simply by gripping the strap. A structure for mounting such a hand strap to the apparatus is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5649314
Abstract: In a selective radio paging receiver, power supply for a local oscillator portion which has the longest period to take up to normal operation from on-set of power supply is performed with an elevated voltage higher than the battery voltage in the normal operation to shorten the take-up period. Subsequently, the battery voltage is supplied to the local oscillator portion together with the radio reception portion, wave shaper circuit and so forth. Therefore, power supply for the radio reception portion and the wave shaper circuit can be delayed to shorten the overall power supply period to improve battery saving effect.

  • Patent number: 5499020
Abstract: A data display radio pager for producing, on receiving a signal including a preassigned address number, an alert and displaying a message also included in the signal on a display. When the radio pager receives a signal including a message with time data, it again alerts the user of the radio pager and displays the message on the display at a particular time based on the time data contained in the message.

  • Patent number: 5077829
Abstract: In a radio communication apparatus in which an audible tone is generated (21-22) in response to reception (15-17, 19) of either a primary or a secondary call signal and stopped by a reset switch (23), the audible tone is stopped (172, 18) when the secondary call signal is received. When the primary call signal is received, the audible tone is not stopped unless the reset switch is continuously closed during a predetermined time interval. Alternatively, the audible tone is stopped when the reset switch is twice closed although the audible tone is produced again after the audible tone is stopped when the reset switch is once closed. As a further alternative, the audible tone is stopped in response to repeated closure of the reset switch without being again produced when the reset switch is once closed.

  • Patent number: 4903330
Abstract: Disclosed is a structure of a housing for a paging receiver of the type including a storage device and a write terminal for a writing code in the storage device. A battery case is disposed in a part of the housing and provided with a window that communicates with the interior of the housing. The write terminal electrically connected to the storage device faces the window so that a connector of a writing apparatus may be inserted into the housing through the window to be connected to the write terminal. The write terminal is not exposed to the outside of the housing, thereby to enhance the resistivity to static electricity and hermetic sealing against dust, water and other impurities and therefore to achieve reliable operation.

  • Patent number: 4682148
Abstract: A radio paging receiver for receiving a carrier wave modulated paging signal which includes a preamble, an address code and a message, is composed of at least a receiver section, a waveform shaping circuit, a memory section, a control section, a speaker with driving sectionto sound an alert signal and a display section. The memory section stores a predetermined number of received messages, which are counted as they are received by a counter in the control section. The display section under the control of the control section, produces a three part display, the first part being an indication of the age of the displayed message relative to the other messages stored in memory, the second part the call type, when a dual call service is implemented, and the last part one of the messages stored in memory. If a message is being displayed as a new message is received, the previous message continues to be displayed, while the new message is stored in memory if memory space is available.

  • Patent number: 4602254
Abstract: A paging receiver includes a noise detector for detecting an external noise component applied to a housing of the paging receiver, and a reset circuit having a timer which is started in response to an output from the noise detector and which generates a reset pulse to reset other components of the paging receiver in the initial standby state.
