  • Patent number: 8698956
Abstract: A transmitting device includes a video-signal output unit, an image displaying unit, an information receiving unit, and a controller. The video-signal output unit outputs a video signal. The image displaying unit displays an image based on the video signal outputted from the video-signal output unit, on a first image display element. The signal transmitting unit transmits the video signal outputted from the video-signal output unit, to an external apparatus via a transmission path. The information receiving unit receives operational information transmitted from the external apparatus, on a display screen of a second image display of the external apparatus. The controller controls at least an operation of the video-signal output unit on the basis of the operational information received by the information receiving unit.

  • Publication number: 20130234625
Abstract: A lighting control system uses both motion and sound inputs to control indoor lighting. In the event that a person's motion initially causes the lighting to be energized, the lighting will not be deenergized even if the person's activity is low motion because certain sounds such as doors closing, typing on a keyboard, etc. prevent the lights off timeout from triggering.

  • Patent number: 8402135
Abstract: [Problem] To enhance the ease of use of a network by a DLNA-compliant device. [Solving Means] A television receiver 250 discovers another DLNA-compliant device connected to a network (S3). Then the television receiver 250 determines an IP address of eHDMI connection (S4) and, in the case of a device directly connected by HDMI, connection setting of a DLNA with that device is automatically executed (S5 through S8). The television receiver 250 may present each connection setting state to a user on a user interface screen, thereby making the user execute checking. In configuring an AV system, the user may execute direct connection by HDMI to enhance the ease of use of an AV system 200 without having to execute the connection setting of DLNA.

  • Publication number: 20040186594
Abstract: An arrangement in which plural users read a preset picture at different places and in which the attention of the users is directed in real-time to the picture. To this end, a picture management server 2 supervises an album made up by plural pictures. In the so supervised album, an URL is allocated to each picture. In case a PC 4-1 and a PC 4-2 acquire album data from the picture management server 2, plural pictures, derived from the album data, are demonstrated on respective display units. When a cursor of the PC 4-1, so far located on a preset picture, is moved, the URL of the picture of the destination of the movement is transmitted to the PC 4-2. The PC 4-2 causes movement of the cursor to the picture associated with the URL received. The arrangement may be applied to a personal computer configured for reading a digitized album or to a server supervising the album.
