  • Patent number: 7154553
Abstract: A composite system includes first and second devices, each operated using its own power source device as a driving source. The system comprises a signal line connecting loads of the first and second devices so that the first and second devices operate in cooperation with each other; and a power source line connecting a first line connecting the first power source device and the load of the first device via a diode and a second line connecting the second power source device and the load of the second device via a diode so that the first and second devices can operate using the power source device of the counterpart device as the drive source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 6, 2001
Date of Patent: December 26, 2006
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Hiroyuki Horii, Kazunori Arima, Toshiya Kondoh, Koji Kawamura, Kenichi Inadomi
  • Patent number: 6714744
Abstract: The remaining amount of expendables such as paper sheets or the like is computed (step S202), and it is checked after completion of a print process if the remaining amount is smaller than a threshold value which is set in advance (step S204). If it is determined that the remaining amount is smaller than the threshold value, the user is alerted to that determination result (step S205). As a result, the user can take a measure before expendables completely run out.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 26, 2000
Date of Patent: March 30, 2004
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventor: Kazunori Arima
  • Patent number: 6692097
Abstract: In an ink jet printer, ink ejection beyond the printing medium is reduced when performing printing without leaving a space along at least one of the edges of the printing medium. For this purpose, performance of data processing in the process of image processing relating to the image data of the marginless edge portion reduces a printing density of the area to lessen an ink application amount to the edge portion. For example, data processing is performed in such manner that a predetermined coefficient smaller than 1 is multiplied by the image data of the area.

  • Publication number: 20020034388
Abstract: The present invention provides a printing apparatus and a method of controlling the same which can minimize power consumption and improve operability by performing a control according to a setting circumstance of a printing medium. To realize this, the printing apparatus comprises a detection means for detecting whether the printing medium is set and a control means for setting and/or canceling the print mode according to a result of detection by the detection means.

  • Publication number: 20010028408
Abstract: A digital broadcast receiving apparatus which realizes reservation for print-outputting information. A digital broadcast program and the type of information provided in the program are set in advance, and at broadcast time of the program, the apparatus automatically starts and receives digital broadcast of the program. Information related to the set type is extracted (steps S601 to S603) from the received data, and the extracted information is print-outputted (step S604).
