  • Patent number: 6480684
Abstract: A developer circulation system includes a storage tank which stores a developer, a development device, a developer supply passage through which the developer is supplied to the development device from the storage tank, a developer return passage through which the developer is returned to the storage tank from the development device, a circulation pump, and an agitation member which agitates the developer in the storage tank. An outlet of the developer return passage and an opening of the developer supply passage are located in the storage tank, so as to promote a flow of the developer generated by the rotation of the agitation member, at positions furthest from each other along a flow of the developer from the outlet of the developer return passage and the opening of the developer supply passage.

  • Publication number: 20020039497
Abstract: In a contact type charger including a charge roller which comes into contact with a photosensitive body and a power supply circuit which applies a direct-current fixed voltage to the charge roller, the power supply circuit further includes a resistor and applies the voltage to the charge roller through the resistor. Further, the power supply circuit includes a rectifying circuit and the resistor is disposed closer to the charge roller side than the rectifying circuit. Due to such a constitution, in response to an impedance between the photosensitive body and the charge roller, a current which flows into the charge roller is changed and an output voltage value is changed and hence, a fog on a background which is generated due to the change of the environment or change of the charge potential derived from the change of the film thickness of the photosensitive body can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6353721
Abstract: Liquid developer of different colors capable of being formed in a film shape are used to form developed images on a plurality of photosensitive drums 10. The developed images are successively transferred from the photosensitive drums 10 onto an image carrier belt 1 so as to be overlaid on one another while applying an electrostatic force. In the color developed image formed on the image carrier belt 1, the solid component ratio of the liquid developer is increased to form the color developed image into a film shape, which is transferred and fixed to a recording medium.

  • Patent number: 6163673
Abstract: A liquid developing apparatus includes a developing roller for developing a latent image on a surface of a photoconductor belt by using a liquid developer. The developing roller is opposed to the surface of the photoconductor belt. A cleaning electrode is provided to remove toner particulates from the surface of the developing roller. The cleaning electrode is opposed to the developing roller with a predetermined distance. A first voltage and a second voltage are applied to the developing roller and the cleaning electrode, respectively. The second voltage applied to the cleaning electrode has an AC component to remove toner particulates from the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 4942475
Abstract: An electrostatically charged image is applied to a smooth surface and moved past a development zone in which a carrier sheet perforated with a multitude of bores is also located. A layer of developing liquid is applied under gradually increasing pressure to a first surface of the carrier sheet so that the applied liquid squeezes through the bores to and beyond a second, opposite surface of the carrier sheet. The liquid emerges above the opposite surface of the carrier sheet to produce a multitude of part-spherical bulges. Field concentration occurs on the part-spherical surfaces of the individual tiny bulges. The first surface of the carrier sheet preferably exhibits lyophilic characteristic to the developing liquid, while the second surface exhibits lyophobic characteristic.
