Patent number: 4465458Abstract: A liquid fuel combustion apparatus for evaporating and vaporizing kerosene, gas oil or like liquid fuel by heating, admixing air with the vaporized fuel in a specified ratio and burning the resulting gaseous mixture in a combustion unit. The vaporizer for the liquid fuel comprises a liquid fuel drawing-up member (15) made of a heat-resistant porous body (8) or heat-resistant inorganic fiber fabric (9) for drawing up the liquid fuel, and a heat generating member (6) including coating layers (22, 23) of heat-resistant metal, heat-resistant alloy or heat-resistant metallic oxide for giving heat to the drawing-up member. To prevent formation of tar-like substances, a catalyst is preferably deposited on the surface of the drawing-up member and/or on the surface of the heat generating member. Further preferably, the outer periphery of the heat generating member (6) is in contact with the drawing-up member (5).Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1982Date of Patent: August 14, 1984Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Atsushi Nishino, Kazunori Sonetaka, Yasuhiro Takeuchi

Patent number: 4460630Abstract: In a method of forming porcelain enamel layer on a metal substrate, the method comprises steps of applying a first coating for an underlying ground layer and a second coating for overlying self-cleaning layer or coloring layer, and the method is characterized by firing both of said first coating and said second coating at the same time, forming a double layered porcelain enamel layer having an inter-layer wherein both layers are mixed, thus giving a sufficient bonding force inbetween as well as strong corrosion resistivity of the substrate due to few pinholes and bubbles in the underlying ground coating.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1982Date of Patent: July 17, 1984Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Atsushi Nishino, Kazunori Sonetaka, Kunio Kimura, Yoshihiro Watanabe

Patent number: 4350613Abstract: A catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas comprising a carrier substantially composed of calcium aluminate and titanium oxide. The carrier is deposited with a platinum group metal or a metal oxide capable of oxidizing reductive gases into innoxious ones. The titanium oxide is applied on the surface of the carrier or incorporated in the carrier. The carrier may further comprise a transition metal oxide showing catalytic activity. A method of making a catalyst is also disclosed in which titanium oxide is applied on the surface of a solid mass of calcium aluminate.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1981Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, LimitedInventors: Atsushi Nishino, Kunio Kimura, Kazunori Sonetaka, Yasuhiro Takeuchi

Patent number: 4180482Abstract: A coating formed on a surface of an article, which is heated during use as typified by a cooking device, to accomplish catalytic oxidation decomposition of oil and grease spattered thereon. The coating is fundamentally a porous matrix layer of an inorganic binder having a matte surface and comprises, in the form of uniformly dispersed particles, an oxidation catalyst and a nondiscoloring material, for example a ferrite, which has the effect of concealing a change in color of the oxidation catalyst resulting from its catalytic action. Preferably the coating comprises additionally a solid acid catalyst such as a zeolite as a decomposition-inducing catalyst in order to acquire an improved catalytic self-cleaning ability at relatively low temperatures such as 200.degree.-300.degree. C.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1978Date of Patent: December 25, 1979Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Atsushi Nishino, Kazunori Sonetaka, Kunio Kimura, Yoshihiro Watanabe
