  • Patent number: 6162540
Abstract: An insulated wire is provided with excellent heat stability and strippability. The wire is coated by a resin composition obtained by mixing 10 parts by weight or less of calcium-zinc stabilizer, 2 to 10 parts by weight of hydrotalcite and 0.1 to 1 part by weight of stearic acid to 100 parts by weight of vinyl chloride resin. This wire is most effective when the size thereof is 0.3 to 2 mm.sup.2 and the thickness of its insulation coating is 0.2 to 0.5 mm.

  • Patent number: 5216205
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a wire conductor for a harness, comprising a central portion which is formed of aramid fiber and a conductor portion formed by circularly compressing a stranded wire which is prepared by arranging copper strands around the central portion and braiding the same. The conductor portion has a conductor sectional area of 0.03 to 0.3 mm.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5170015
Abstract: An electric wire conductor for use in automobiles made by twisting together a plurality of strands. Each of the strands has a surface layer made of copper or a copper alloy and a core made of steel containing 0.05-0.85 percent of carbon and other elements such as Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo, Nb, V, B, Be, Al, or Ti and P, S and Cu. Each strand has a tensile strength of 80-160 kgf/mm.sup.2 before being twisted and a conductivity of 25% IACS or more. The conductor has a total sectional area of 0.05-0.30 mm.sup.2, a breaking load of more than 6 kgf, and an elongation at break not less than 2%.

  • Patent number: 5149917
Abstract: Strands of a copper alloy containing 0.2 to 10 percent by weight of Sn are braided to form a stranded wire for a wire conductor for a harness having a conductor sectional area of 0.03 to 0.3 mm.sup.2. After the braiding, preferably stranded wire is heat treated so that its tensile strength is maintained at a prescribed level. The wire conductor for a harness has a breaking strength which is equivalent to that of a conventional harness wire, and is hardly broken by an impact. The wire conductor maintains its straightness, and strand ends do not fray upon cutting.

  • Patent number: 5118906
Abstract: An electric wire conductor for use in automobiles made by twisting a plurality of strands together. Each of the strands has a surface layer made of copper or a copper alloy and a core made of steel containing carbon and other elements such as Si, Mn, Ni and Cr. Also, the core may be made of an Fe-based alloy containing Ni or Cr. This structure allows a substantial reduction in the weight of conductor.

  • Patent number: 5003761
Abstract: A double-twist type compact conductor manufacturing apparatus is comprised of a supply device for supplying conductor strands, a conductor twist machine, a converging and compacting die for converging and compacting a plurality of the conductor strands, and a capstan having a groove shaped so as to maintain the form of the converged and compacted conductor, as well as to provide feeding of the same. The converging compacting die is disposed upstream of the capstan but downstream from the conductor supply device and the conductor twist machine is downstream of the converging compacting die. The conductor twist machine is a double twist machine for imparting a double twist to the conductor. This configuration of the apparatus serves to prevent not only deformation of the twisted wire but also the breakage thereof.
