  • Patent number: 4543684
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning plastics forming mold faces comprising composite brushes each consisting of a vibratory brush adapted to be vibrated in a vertical direction or in unspecified directions by a vibrating mechanism, and a rotary brush annularly surrounding the vibratory brush and adapted to be rotated in a horizontal direction, the composite brushes being disposed in opposed relation to the faces of two mold halves, a dirt sucking mechanism having a vacuum source for sucking and removing flash peeled from the mold faces by the vibratory and rotary brushes, and an air blowing mechanism for blowing air against the mold faces to cool the flash so as to enhance the flash peeling action of the vibratory and rotary brushes.

  • Patent number: 4388265
Abstract: In molding a number of articles of plastics at the same time with use of an upper mold and a lower mold having a multiplicity of cavities in the fitting surfaces thereof, a process for molding plastics by supplying the molding material to a plurality of pots each provided for one pair of cavities in proximity thereto, and injecting the material into the cavities from the pots through gates without passing the material through any runner. An apparatus for practicing the process is also disclosed. The waste of the molding material can be reduced at least by the amount conventionally needed for filling the main and auxiliary runners.

  • Patent number: 4347211
Abstract: Molding apparatus including an upper and lower mold half and having a plurality of mold cavities is improved by eliminating runners and gates. An open bore adjacent each mold cavity serves as a separate pot for each cavity. A plunger moveable in each bore is used to inject plastics material directly from the bore into the mold cavity into which the bore opens. A molding method is similarly improved by injecting the plastics material directly from the separate bores into the individual mold cavities into which the bores open.

  • Patent number: 4194865
Abstract: An apparatus for loading inserts to be encapsulated from cartridges into a loading frame is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a loading frame base provided with a plurality of guide members, stopping members arranged on the loading frame base for positioning inserts on the guide members, hydraulic cylinders for lifting up the loading frame to load the inserts on the guide members into the loading frame, and an insert feeding mechanism arranged at the rear end of the loading frame base and composed of a cartridge base on which cartridges are placed, and apparatus for intermittently elevating the cartridge base. In operation, inserts contained in cartridges slide along the grooves of the guide members, whereby they are positioned on the guide members, and then loaded into the loading frame by raising motion of the loading frame.

  • Patent number: 4169299
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning parting surfaces of plastic molds, which ensures complete and efficient removal of the flash adhered to the parting surfaces of the mold. The cleaning apparatus comprises a carriage reciprocatably mounted on a supporting assembly, and cleaning means mounted on the carriage. The cleaning means comprises a pair of cleaning heads each comprising a spaced pair of air blasting members and a rotary brush arranged between said air blasting members, both of which are provided in the head body. The air blasting members blast the air against the respective parting surfaces of the mold sections, and the rotary brushes remove the flash from the respective parting surfaces. The removed flash dust is sucked up and collected by a dust collecting member provided in the head body and connected to suction means.
