  • Patent number: 5285123
Abstract: A turbo-generator has a tapering cooling part positioned between a vapor turbine part and a generator part, and casings of these parts are combined together to form a sealed single-boundary structure. A turbine shaft in the vapor turbine part, a rotary shaft in the cooling part and a generator shaft in the generator part are combined unitarily and are supported by bearing parts in such a way that the unitary shaft does not pass from the boundary structure. The tapering cooling part has a smaller diameter at the side of the generator part, and the inner circumferential surface of the cooling part forms a labyrinth structure to separate the atmospheres of the vapor turbine part and the generator part.

  • Patent number: 3940378
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a high molecular weight, elastic and random type butadiene-propylene copolymer whose propylene content is in the range of 3 to 45 mol%, which comprises copolymerizing butadiene and propylene in the molar ratio ranging from 1/10 to 10/1 at a temperature in the range of 0.degree. to 80.degree.C in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of (1) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of titanium tetrachloride, titanium tetrabromide and vanadyl trichloride, (2) an organoaluminum compound having the general formula, ALR.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3 wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent a hydrocarbon radical and (3) phosgene, in which said components (2) and (3) are mixed at room temperature prior to the addition of other catalyst components and of monomers. The resulting random butadiene-propylene copolymer is highly elastic and superior to cis-1,4-polybutadiene in resistance to thermal aging.

  • Patent number: 3933768
Abstract: A dihalocyclopropane functional multi-component copolymer is produced by reacting olefin bond units contained in the side chain or in the cyclic group in the main chain of a multi-component copolymer with dihalocarbene generated from halogenated hydrocarbon in the presence of a cation surfactant catalyst by using an alkali aqueous solution. The dihalocyclopropane functional multi-component copolymer has an excellent compatibility as a polymer to be blended with the general purpose rubber and as a halogenated rubber series industrial material.
