  • Patent number: 4921537
Abstract: A shrinkage compensated mortar or grout can be made with about 40 to 60% by weight of fine aggregate and 40 to 60% by weight of a hydraulic composition which in turn is made with 60 to 80% by weight of mixture of rapid hardening cement and 20 to 40% portland cement; and based on the weight of cement, 5 to 8% by weight of silica powder; 0.2 to 0.4% by weight of a hydroxycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof; and 2 to 3% by weight of a high performance water-reducer. Such shrinkage compensated mortars or grouts are useful in the installation of machinery, foundations for major structures and the like.

  • Patent number: 4803154
Abstract: An assay for an immunologically active substance (B) in a biologically derived test sample comprising using an immuno-active membrane of a hydrophobic polymer sheet having numerous hydrophilic spots, on which a prefixed amount of an immuno-active substance (A) or (B) has been immobilized, and a coloring-membrane having numerous spots which contain a color-producing reagent being capable of developing color by the catalytic effect of an enzyme at the corresponding positions to those of the immuno-active membrane, and making contact the immuno-active membrane with said test sample in the presence of an enzyme-labeled immuno-active substance (A') or (B') and a substrate for reacting the substance (A), substance (B) and enzyme-labeled substance (A') or (B') competitively or non-competitively, and superposing the coloring-membrane of on the immuno-active membrane, followed by colorimetrically measuring the resulting color and thereby determining the amount of the substance (B) in the test sample.

  • Patent number: 3996884
Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to an improved method and apparatus for glow discharge treatment of organic high molecular weight film. When glow discharge treatment is effected in the presence of an organic monomer vapor, the deposit coating is found to be uniform throughout a wide area while being soluble in a particular organic solvent. The glow discharge region is modified by placing a screen member at the end of the glow region which is intermediate each glow discharge electrode and the substrate end associated therewith.
