Abstract: The present invention provides a method of sterilizing VRE using a composition which contains hinokitiol, a metal complex thereof or their salt as an effective component, and aloe extract and the like extracts as preferably used. The composition is administered to an animal infected with VRE, or a site contaminated with VRE.

Abstract: A method of producing a capsaicin analogue, comprising reacting a fatty acid having 12 or more carbon atoms or an ester thereof (inclusive of fats and oils) with capsaicin in the presence of lipase to produce an N-vanillyl fatty acid amide having an acyl group containing 12 or more carbon atoms, and a method of producing fats and oils containing capsaicin analogues, comprising reacting edible fats and oils with capsaicin in the presence of lipase to produce N-vanillyl fatty acid amides from a portion of the edible fats and oils are provided. It is possible to produce non-pungent capsaicin analogues and other capsaicin analogues, which facilitates utilization of non-pungent capsaicin analogues in the food industry.

Abstract: A curtain attachment connector movable along a curtain railing for holding a curtain comprises a fastener member having first and second engaging faces engageable with male or female engaging faces of the curtain, and an attachment extending from one end of the fastener member and adapted to be attached to the curtain railing directly or indirectly. The first and second engaging faces are composed of a multiplicity of hooks rising from front and back sides of the fastener member. The first engaging face has an engaging strength with respect to the engaging faces of the curtain which is stronger than that of the second engaging face.
