    Abstract: An electronic instrument includes an input device having a plurality of channels to each of which an audio signal is input. A demodulation device demodulates audio signals and converts the audio signals into digital signals that control the electronic instrument. The electronic instrument also includes a feeding device that feeds the digital signals to a sound source and a detection device that detects whether or not the audio signals in any of the plurality of channels are modulated by the digital signals. A controller controls the demodulation device, in cases where it has been detected that any of the audio signals are modulated by the digital signals, so as to demodulate the digital signals from the audio signals that have been input to the channels, such that another channel's audio signals that are not modulated by the digital signals are output to an audio output.

    Abstract: An electronic instrument has a plurality of keys and allows a user to select one mode of a normal mode and a divided mode. Upon selecting of the normal mode, musical tones having a first set of characteristics are assigned to a single keyboard zone spanning the plurality of keys. Upon selecting of the divided mode, the single keyboard zone is divided into a plurality of keyboard zones, and musical tones having a second set of characteristics different from the first set of characteristics are assigned to each of the plurality of keyboard zones. A musical tone is generated upon operation of one key of the plurality of keys. The musical tone is generated in conformance with the selected mode. The musical tone may be output to a first output and/or a second output.

    Abstract: An improved non-contact type pattern sensor includes a magnetic resistor element arranged facing a pattern track on a recoridng medium having a magnetized pattern in the pattern track. A clearance sensor is arranged to face the pattern track on the recording medium and generates a detection signal as a function of the distance between the clearance sensor and the pattern track. The control unit connected to the clearance sensor generates an output signal which varies as a function of the detection signal. A magnetic field generator connected to the control unit is arranged near the magnetic sensor element and generates a bias magnetic field whose intensity varies as a function of the output signal.

    Abstract: A non-contact detection head which compensates for variation and the spacing between a detection head and a circular recording medium. The recording medium has a magnetized pattern recorded along the periphery thereof, and is mounted on a central rotary shaft. A detection head is spaced from and faces the recorded pattern on the recording medium and generates an output as a function of the recorded pattern. In one embodiment, pneumatic means is provided for preventing fluctuations in the clearance between the recording medium and the detection head from influencing the output of the detection head. In a second embodiment, a mechanical arrangement is provided to achieve this result. In a third embodiment, an electrical circuit is provided to compensate for fluctuations in the clearance between the recording medium and the detection head.

    Abstract: An improved billet and process for producing a tubular body by forced plastic deformation is disclosed. The billet includes a metallic tubular sheath, a metallic center core and a salt intermediate core. The radial thickness of the metallic tubular sheath is equal to or less than 0.11 times the outer diameter of the metallic tubular sheath. The metallic center core is positioned within the tubular sheath and is surrounded by the salt intermediate core which fills the cylindrical space between the tubular sheath and the center core. In the process of the present invention, the foregoing billet is subjected to forced compulsory deformation to reduce the diameter of the billet. Thereafter, the intermediate core is removed through solution and the center core is drawn out of the sheath in order to obtain the tubular body.
