Abstract: In a vehicle mounted information guidance device which guides a vehicle along a route on a map displayed on a screen on the basis of the present position of the vehicle and a destination, when a user sets his desired retrieving location at a preparatory stage for setting the destination, the device changes a screen into a state of display where the present position of the vehicle and the retrieving location are displayed at the same time on the map displayed on the screen and enables the user to grasp the relationship between the present position of the vehicle and the retrieving location in this state of display and to set whether or not the user intends to make the retrieving location the destination.
