  • Patent number: 6305876
Abstract: A net includes a bag body, an endless suspension rope, and a top closing rope. The bag body prevents scour of an underwater structure, and is formed into a mesh by a knitted fabric. The endless suspension rope is inserted through the mesh adjacent to an opening portion of the bag body. The top closing rope closes the opening of the bag body, and is inserted through a mesh adjacent to the mesh through which the suspension rope is inserted.

  • Patent number: 6113496
Abstract: A vibration buffering device is constructed in a lightweight and compact fashion, the number of parts is reduced, the assembling operation can be simplified, and generation of a noise is prevented. An annular passage and accommodating recesses, which open into the passage in pairs, are defined in a damper housing integral with a first mass member. First coil springs are retained on spring holders inserted in the passage, and second coil springs are accommodated in the accommodating recesses. A transmitting arm, placed into the passage, is coupled to a second mass member which is capable of being angularly displaced about the same axis relative to the first mass member. In a power non-transmitting state, opposite ends of the second coil springs are received by opposite ends of the accommodating recesses and are in contact with opposite ends of the spring holders.

  • Patent number: 6070680
Abstract: A control system for a hybrid vehicle including a traction motor with a regenerative braking function. In order to increase the efficiency of regeneration, engine brake during regenerative braking is reduced by lowering the rotational speed of the engine below the lowest rotational speed value of the conventional control system. The control system can avoid engine stall during sudden, rapid deceleration which may occur during regenerative braking. Rapid deceleration of the vehicle is detected based on operating conditions of the vehicle. The traction motor has an assisting function where the traction motor drives the engine to help prevent a stall. The assisting function is carried out by controlling torque output from the traction motor to a predetermined positive value upon detection of the quick deceleration of the vehicle. The predetermined positive value is preset according to the operating characteristics of the vehicle's clutch.

  • Patent number: 4650647
Abstract: An apparatus for removing acid constituents such as HCl and/or SO.sub.x from the waste-gas generated by furnaces, incinerators and the like wherein the calcium-containing powder material is blown into a waste-gas duct to form a lean fluidized flow until it reaches a vertical moving bed filter having two louvered walls between which granular packings are filled. The process for removing the acid constituents is accomplished by chemisorption which occurs first in the duct and then in the filter bed. A recycled use of the powder is preferred. The filtered waste-gas is further purified by an electrostatic precipitator. The use of a moving bed filter permits the use of a greater amount of calciumaceous powder relative to the acid gases without increasing the electrical load on the electrostatic precipitator.

  • Patent number: 4622934
Abstract: In a crankshaft structure of two-cycle internal combustion engine, a crank web is provided with a reduced diameter portion at one end thereof coming in the proximity of a bearing which rotatably carries a crank journal and a sealing member is disposed on the outer periphery of the reduced diameter portion. This arrangement advantageously reduces the axial length of the crankshaft while keeping a desired length of the supporting part of the crank web fitted with the crank journal.

  • Patent number: 4519471
Abstract: A multi-cylinder engine mounted on a motorcycle includes at least two cylinders arranged in a V-configuration. At least one cylinder of the engine extends downwardly and frontwardly relative to the motorcycle. The remaining cylinder(s) of the engine extend upwardly and frontwardly, and the lower and upper cylinders define a obtuse angle therebetween in a vertical plane.

  • Patent number: 4480847
Abstract: A steering device for a vehicle including a steerable wheel, a front fork rotatably supporting the same, a steering member connected to the front fork, and a link mechanism. The link mechanism supports the front fork on the frame of the vehicle to allow it to rotate with respect to a given steering axis while restricting any other motions. The link mechanism includes a pair of first links having axes intersecting the steering axis and three second links arranged on planes including the steering axis but not the axes of the first links.
