  • Patent number: 7143969
Abstract: A decladding device of spent nuclear fuel easily and efficiently removes fuel pins from the spent nuclear fuel. Spent nuclear fuel pins P, made of austenitic stainless steel, and in which the spent nuclear fuel is filled, are fed by a feeder 7 one by one or by a unit of several pins and finely sheared into fragments by a shredder 1 having plural rotating blades 4, 5 so that fragments are of a size of 1 to 2 mm or less. The sheared fragments are separated into a fuel pin portion and a nuclear fuel portion by a magnetic separator 20. The magnetic separator 20 comprises a vibration feeder 27 feeding the sheared fragments and is arranged below the shredder 1. Without using a dissolving liquid of nitric acid, decladding is done and the spent nuclear fuel can be efficiently obtained.

  • Patent number: 5687615
Abstract: A manual transmission includes a shift rail connected to a shift lever and supported by a housing so as to be axially movable, a sleeve connected to the shift rail, and a poppet plug for positioning the shift rail. When the speed change is completed by the operation of shift lever, the positioning ball of the poppet plug engages with one of poppet grooves formed in the shift rail, and the end portion of the shift rail abuts on the housing surface. As a result, the shift rail is axially held by the housing surface and the positioning ball of the poppet plug, so that the axial displacement of the shift rail is prevented. For this reason, even if a vibration occurs on the sleeve, the transmission of vibration from the sleeve to the shift lever via interposing elements including the shift rail is prevented, whereby a feeling of shifting operation is improved.

  • Patent number: 4995275
Abstract: A device for supporting an overhang type slidable pinion shaft of an electric motor for starting an engine comprises a bearing for supporting the pinion shaft, the bearing including an inner ring having a groove provided in its inner peripheral surface. Accordingly, it is possible to secure grease or oil in the groove provided in the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring of the bearing and it is therefore possible to minimize the boundary friction occurring between the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring of the bearing and the sliding surface of the pinion shaft and, at the same time, enable the pinion shaft to slide even more smoothly.

  • Patent number: 4916958
Abstract: At least one axial groove is formed on an output shaft which extends from an end of the output shaft to a stop ring groove and has a depth substantially equal to that of the stop ring groove to allow a stop ring fitted therein to be pushed up by a pin or the like inserted along the axial groove into the stop ring groove. A stop ring groove may be formed in a position on the output drive shaft adjacent to an end thereof, and an extension of a pinion drive shaft is provided which extends from an end face of the pinion drive shaft to form a cylindrical protective cover for a stopper fitted by the stop ring received in the groove and protruding from the end surface of the pinion drive shaft when the latter is retracted fully.

  • Patent number: 4829195
Abstract: An overhang type starter is arranged such that a pinion provided at the front end of a driving shaft is provided in a position ahead of a bearing which supports the shaft rotatably. The driving shaft has an annular projection formed thereon at a position close to the pinion, the annular projection being slidably supported by a bearing. Since the driving shaft is supported by the annular projection thereof, when the shaft is advanced to its operative position, it is supported at the same point as in the case when the shaft is in a retracted position, and therefore no change occurs in the amount of overhang of the pinion. Accordingly, deflection of the driving shaft and the rotary output shaft is minimized.
