The information input apparatus includes: an input format presenting unit for presenting an input format for interpreting the handwriting data, the input format having a location input field used to input a figure or a symbol in such a manner that a location in a drawing is identifiable; a location information acquisition unit for recognizing the figure or the symbol inputted in the location input field and for acquiring information on the location of the figure or the symbol inputted in the location input field, on the basis of the handwriting data of the figure or symbol inputted in the location input field.
