    Abstract: The invention relates to a flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition having incorporated therein a trace of stabilized red phosphorus, which achieves both improvement of heat resistance and flame retardation without using chlorine nor bromine and also possesses long-term heat stability and smells little. The composition comprises (A) 50 to 95 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin and (B) 5 to 50 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polyester resin, contains (C) 0.1 to 5 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the total amount of (A) and (B), of coated stabilized red phosphorus and preferably contains (D) 0.1 to 100 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the total amount of (A) and (B), of a silicate compound.

    Abstract: A flame retarded thermoplastic resin composition comprising (R) a thermoplastic resin comprising (A) a polycarbonate resin and (B) an aromatic polyester resin in an (A)/(B) ratio of 99/1 to 50/50 by weight, and per 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin (R), (C) 0.5 to 100 parts by weight of a silicate compound and (D) 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an organic phosphorus based flame retarder. The composition can exhibit excellent flame resistance and anti-drip property without containing a halogen atom and, moreover, has excellent properties such as heat resistance, mechanical strength, solvent resistance, surface property of moldings, and dimensional stability.

    Abstract: A polyester-type resin composition which has sufficient anti-static property and flame-retardant property, in addition to maintaining mechanical strength and thermal resistance and which is useful for, in particular, electrical and electronic mechanical parts field. The flame-retardant anti-static polyester-type resin composition of the present invention comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polyester (A), from 1 to 35 parts by weight of a bromine-type flame-retardant (B), from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of an antimony compound (C) and from 3 to 12 parts by weight of conductive carbon black (D), wherein the Br/Sb weight ratio in said polyester-type resin composition is in a range from 5.5/1 to 35.0/1. Moreover, a reinforcing filler (E), a crystallizing accelerator (F) and a multifunctional compound (G) can be added in further to the said polyester-type resin composition.

    Abstract: There are provided a polyethylene terephthalate resin composition in which to 100 parts by weight of a polyethylene terephthalate resin (A) polymerized by use of a germanium catalyst and having at least 80% of an ethylene terephthalate repetition unit, 0.05 to 30 parts by weight of a compound selected from the group consisting of an epoxy compound having at least two intramolecular epoxy groups without any intramolecular ester linkage and a carbodiimide compound (B) is formulated, and resin compositions in which a fibrous reinforcing material (C), a block copolymer (D) and an inorganic nucleating agent (E) are further formulated in the above mentioned composition. The resin composition of the present invention is excellent in moist heat resistance, fluidity and mechanical strength, and in addition, can be subjected to high cycle molding even in a mold of a low temperature to yield a molded article with improved surface characteristics.

    Abstract: There are disclosed a flame retardant polyethylene terephthalate resin composition comprising (A) a polyethylene terephthalate resin containing ethylene terephthalate units as a main constituent, prepared by the use of a germanium compound as a catalyst, (B) a halogen flame retardant, (C) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of epoxy compounds and carbodiimide compounds and (D) an antimony compound, and moreover, resin compositions further containing, besides those (A), (B), (C) and (D), at least one selected from the group consisting of (E) a reinforcing filler, (F) at least one inorganic compound composed of silicates and silicic acid and (G) a crystallization accelerator. The resin compositions are excellent in physical properties and wet heat resistance. By the addition of the specific inorganic compounds and the crystallization accelerators, releasability is also improved and thus high cyclization of molding is possible.

The synthetic resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, and as a metallic pigment, from 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of lustrous metal particles having an average particle diameter (maximum length) of from 50 to 800 .mu.m, and a ratio .sigma./x of a standard deviation of a particle diameter (.sigma.) to an average particle diameter (x) of 0.1 or less, or from 0.2 to 10 parts by weight of lustrous metal fine pieces having an average particle diameter of from 50 to 800 .mu.m, and an average shape ratio (thickness/average particle diameter) of from 1/100 to 1/8.

    Abstract: A polyethylene terephthalate resin composition suitable for use in moldings which comprises:(A) 5 to 93 parts of a polyethylene terephthalate resin and(B) 95 to 7 parts of a polyethylene terephthalate block copolymer having 10 to 55% by weight of units represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and each is a bivalent hydrocarbon group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 to R.sup.10 are the same or different and each is hydrogen atom, a monovalent hydrocarbon group or a halogen atom, X is a bivalent group or single bond, and each of m and n is an integer of 5 to 20, said parts of said components (A) and (B) being parts by weight based on the total amount of said components (A) and (B). The composition of the invention can be molded according to injection molding as well as extrusion, and the obtained molded articles have the excellent heat resistance, surface property and fatigue resistance.

    Abstract: A flame resistant resin composition comprising (a) a synthetic resin, (b) red phosphorus coated with a thermosetting resin and (c) a filler. The coated red phosphorus is useful as a flame retardant for various synthetic resins, particularly thermoplastic polyesters such as polyalkylene terephthalates, and can impart the flame resistance to the resins without impairing heat stability and electric characteristics. The use of the coated rod phosphorus in combination with talc is particularly preferred.
