    Abstract: A catalyst composition for hydrotreating of hydrocarbon oils is disclosed. The composition comprises a Group VIB metal in an amount of 5-30% by weight, as oxide, and a Group VIII metal in an amount of 1-10% by weight, as oxide, wherein said Group VIB metal and said Group VIII metal are distributed with a concentration gradient which becomes higher from the surface toward the center of a catalyst particle according to the formulas, 0.9>h.sub.2 /h.sub.1 .gtoreq.0, wherein h.sub.1 is the Group VIB metal concentration at the center of the catalyst particle and h.sub.2 at the outermost surface of the catalyst particle, and 0.9>h.sub.4 /h.sub.3 .gtoreq.0, wherein h.sub.3 is the Group VIII metal concentration at the center of the catalyst particle and h.sub.4 at the outermost surface of the catalyst particle.

A process which further involves bringing the exhaust gas into contact with an oxidizing catalyst subsequent to the above process.

There is also disclosed a process for removing nitrogen oxides from an exhaust gas which comprises bringing the exhaust gas into contact with the above catalyst and then with an oxidation catalyst.

    Abstract: A catalyst composition for the hydrotreatment of hydrocarbon oils is disclosed. The composition comprises at least one metal compound having hydrogenating activity belonging to a Group VIB or Group VIII carried on a carrier comprising 2-35% by weight of zeolite and 98-65% by weight of alumina or an alumina-containing substance, wherein, (A) said alumina or alumina-containing substance (1) has a mean pore diameter of 60-125 angstrom and (2) contains the pore volume of which the diameter falls within .+-.10 angstrom of the mean pore diameter of 70-98% of the total pore volume, (B) said zeolite (3) has a mean particle size of 6 .mu.m or smaller and (4) contains particles of which the diameter is 6 .mu.m or smaller of 70-98% of all zeolite particles. It has both high hydrodesulfurization and high cracking capabilities at the same time, and can selectively crack the heavy fractions which have once been hydrotreated, yielding lighter fractions.

    Abstract: A two-piece motor stator having; a generally annular inner iron stator core having a plurality of teeth extending radially outwardly from outer surface thereof, an annular outer iron stator core having slots in the inner surface thereof for receiving tip portions of the teeth, and coils provided around body portions of the teeth respectively before the inner and outer iron cores are combined together by press fitting, wherein the outer iron stator core has a plurality of channels made in the inner surface, the channels being formed along each of the slots for absorbing stress resulting from press fitting the tip portions into the slots in order to reduce the degree of deformation of the inner and outer stator iron cores. The channels may be made in the tip portions of the teeth instead of the inner surface of the outer iron stator. The channels also may be filled with a deformable and magnetically soft material.

    Abstract: A hydrocarbon conversion crystalline catalyst composition is described comprising 5 to 90% by weight of a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite, 5 to 90% by weight of a porous inorganic oxide, 1 to 20% by weight of a Group VI metal component (calculated as the corresponding oxide), 0 to 7% by weight of a Group VIII metal component (calculated as the corresponding oxide), and at least one of phosphorus and boron components. The weight ratio of the amount of the phosphorus+boron components (calculated as elemental phosphorus and elemental boron) to the Group VI metal component (calculated as the corresponding oxide) is from 0.01:1 to 0.08:1 and the weight ratio of each of phosphorus and boron to the Group VI metal component is below 0.045:1. This composition is prepared by contacting a support comprising the crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite and inorganic oxide with a solution containing a Group VI metal component and at least one phosphorus or boron component.
