  • Publication number: 20050135820
Abstract: If a temperature of a heat roller 12 rises abnormally, a thermostat 54 operates. When the thermostat 54 operates, a conduction path to an excitation coil 91 of a relay 90 is cut off so that a normally open contact 92 of the relay 90 can be operated. When the normally open contact 92 operates, the supply path of a drive signal supplied from a frequency variable oscillator 81 to a transistor 63 is cut off. By the cut-off, a high-frequency current does not flow through coils 14a to 14c; therefore, induction heating with respect to the heat roller 12 is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20040190955
Abstract: One of the amount of induction heating by a coil and that of induction heating by coils is increased/decreased relative to the other, and the ratio of the amount of the induction heating by the coil to that of the induction heating by the coils, at which the amount of the induction heating by the coil increases and that of the induction heating by coils decreases, is set at, e.g., “9:1”, and the ratio of the amount of the induction heating by the coils to that of the induction heating by the coil, at which the amount of the induction heating by the coils increases and that of the induction heating by coil decreases, is set at, e.g., “7:3”.

  • Patent number: 5771422
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier on which a static latent image is formed, a main charger to charge the image carrier, an operating portion to direct the output adjustment of the main charger, and a developing device to develop a static latent image by applying developer to it. Further, an image forming apparatus has a charge eliminator arranged between the main charger and the developing device along the rotating direction of the image carrier to fully remove the charge applied to the image carrier through the exposure when the output adjustment of the main charger is directed by the operating portion, and also has a detector to detect the current flowing into the image carrier when the image carrier is charged by the main charger after the output adjustment of the main charger is directed.

  • Patent number: 5506662
Abstract: The copying machine has a charge partially erasing device for limiting a region of the photosensitive drum, in which an electrostatic latent image can be formed. The charge partially erasing device includes a plurality of LED elements arranged in the direction of the axis of the photosensitive drum, and the LED elements are turned on in accordance with data stored in the ROM in a predetermined order. The data stored in the ROM can be read out at all times as the document size key of the operation panel is operated, and the charge supplied on the photosensitive drum is partially erased. Further, the number of times the document size key was operated is counted, and a partial erase pattern is selected based on the number of times the was operated. Thus, a specific partially erased image is achieved by a simple operation.

  • Patent number: 5486899
Abstract: A control section 81 of a PPC outputs a request signal having a command that designates an encrypting rule to a cartridge CPU 45f of a toner cartridge. The control section 81 receives a response signal based on the output of the request signal from the cartridge CPU 45f, and collates the response signal with identification data in a ROM 82. The conformability of the toner cartridge is discriminated in accordance with whether or not the response signal received from the cartridge CPU 45f corresponds to the encrypting rule designated by the command of the request signal.

  • Patent number: 5161084
Abstract: A charger for initial charging is built on the surface of a photosensitive drum. A discharge lamp removes the charge from the photosensitive drum. A current detection unit detects the current flowing from the photosensitive drum upon the removal of the charge from the surface of the photosensitive drum by the discharge lamp. A control unit compares a current which is detected by a current detection unit with a reference value which is initially stored in a memory and generates a digital value corresponding to a difference error between them. An A/D converter converts the digital value which is generated from the control unit into an analog current for supply to the first-mentioned charge. The aforementioned process is repeated by an instruction of the control unit until the difference value between the current detected by the current detection unit and the reference value comes within an allowable range.

  • Patent number: 5016052
Abstract: This invention provides a microfilm reader/printer which in the power saving mode, namely, in the case when the machine is not in use, though the power is turned on, interrupts the supply of power to the unnecessary circuits, in particular, power to the light source drive for projecting microfilms is interrupted. Therefore, power consumption can be reduced as well as a prolongation of the life of the light source device can be realized. In addition, this microfilm reader/printer is designed so that the printing operation will not return to a prescribed printing mode even when the printing is interrupted for a fixed length of time, so that no misprints will occur even when a printing operation is resumed after a fixed length of time.
