  • Patent number: 8515665
Abstract: Signal data stored in an information storage unit of an on-board vehicle navigation device includes signal numbers, position information for each signal, signal indication information for determining the indication, and information for a relationship between the indications and times for each signal. Based on a determination that the target signal has been set by selecting a signal intersection on a map screen (S10), a route from a current position to the target signal is searched (S31). Signals on the set route are read from map data (S60). Travel time between the current position and the closest signal on the route and the travel times required between adjacent signals on the route are calculated (S70). The indication information for each signal is predicted from the travel times required and the signal indication information in the signal data (S80). And then, the indication of the target signal at the time of arrival is determined and announced (S90).

  • Patent number: 8103437
Abstract: In a case where a CPU 11 provided in an information distribution center 3 has received a request command for requesting predicted traffic information transmitted from a navigation apparatus 2 as well as vehicle information such as a navigator identifying ID, coordinate data of a vehicle position, or coordinate data of a destination, the CPU 11 searches a basic route based on update-purpose map information 14A, and sets a distribution range serving as a transmission target of traffic information 16A, 16B, and 16C. Then, the CPU 11 generates the predicted traffic information 16C such as congestion prediction information corresponding to the distribution range, extracts the predicted traffic information 16C of each link having a difference in the generated predicted traffic information 16C and the current traffic information 16A, and distributes the extracted predicted traffic information 16C to the navigation apparatus 2 together with a link ID of a corresponding link.

  • Publication number: 20100332130
Abstract: A vehicle navigation apparatus determines whether or not the currently traveled route having a current vehicle position matches with estimated routes after determining, on the basis of the traveled route history, the estimated routes which correspond to destination candidates. Then, the navigation apparatus further determines whether or not the subsequent portion of the estimated route overlaps with other estimated route, for selecting one of the destination candidates. The vehicle navigation apparatus thus selects the destination candidate, in a highly accurate manner in terms of user preference, based on the traveled route history.
