  • Patent number: 6926962
Abstract: The invention provides dyed yarn characterized by comprising dyed polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber, having an elastic recovery of 60% or greater under 10% elongation, and having a boiling water shrinkage of no greater than 4%. The dyed yarn of the invention has excellent stretchability and dimensional stability as well as a soft feel, and is therefore suitable for use in fabrics.

Date of Patent: August 9, 2005
    Assignee: Asahi Kasei Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Hiroshi Yamazaki, Kazuto Oue, Mitsuyuki Yamamoto
  • Patent number: 6705353
Abstract: The present invention provides a stretchable woven fabric characterized in that the warp yarn and/or the weft yarn is prepared from a false-twisted yarn of a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) multifilamentary yarn, and that the false-twisted yarn is twisted with a twist factor of from 2,700 to 13,000 in the direction reverse to the false twisting direction. The woven fabric of the present invention is useful as a stretch material for sportswear, outerwear, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6514607
Abstract: The present invention provides a sewing thread formed from poly(trimethylene terephthalate) multifilament yarns, the sewing thread being characterized in that the sewing thread shows a stress at a 5% elongation of a tensile elongation curve of from 0.4 to 1.2 cN/dtex and a stress at a 30% elongation of from 1.4 to 2.2 cN/dtex, a method of producing the same, and fabric sewn articles prepared using the same. The sewing thread of the present invention is a stretchable one that is excellent in sewing performance, and the seam prepared using the same has a good appearance and shows excellent stretchability. Moreover, the sewn articles thus obtained do not constrain the wearers, and give the wearers a significantly comfortable feel.

  • Patent number: 6503623
Abstract: The present invention provides a yarn composed of polytrimethylene terephthalate fibers, particularly polytrimethylene terephthalate multifilamentary fibers having a single-fiber size in a range from 1 to 56 dtex, which are collected together to have a total size in a range from 2000 to 22000 dtex. Further, the present invention provides a racket string composed of polytrimethylene terephthalate multifilamentary fibers having a single-fiber size in a range from 1 to 56 dtex, which are collected together to have a total size in a range from 7000 to 22000 dtex, and a musical instrumental string composed of polytrimethylene terephthalate multifilamentary fibers having a single-fiber size in a range from 1 to 56 dtex, which are collected together to have a total size in a range from 2000 to 14000 dtex. The yarn according to the present invention is high in strength, elastic recovery and stress-retaining ratio as well as excellent in water resistance, softness and homogeneity of yarn properties.
