  • Patent number: 6795588
Abstract: A ringing detector detects mosquito noise and ringing for outputting an image signal smoothed by a horizontal/vertical high-pass filter when mosquito noise and ringing are detected while outputting the image signal as such when neither mosquito noise nor ringing is detected, thereby properly correcting the image signal without reducing the texture specific to the image signal also in a portion continuously exhibiting fine details.

  • Patent number: 6529176
Abstract: A video signal processing circuit synthesizes a video signal and a graphic signal on the basis of a display switching control signal, inverts a synthesized signal on the time axis for each of a forward scanning period and a backward scanning period, and output a display signal. A speed modulating signal control circuit inverts the binarized display switching control signal on the time axis for each of the forward scanning period and the backward scanning period, expands the pulse width thereof, and feeds the display switching control signal to a speed modulating signal generating circuit. The speed modulating signal generating circuit subjects a display signal to first-order differentiation, inverts the polarity of a differentiated signal in the backward scanning signal, sets a portion, corresponding to the graphic signal, in the differentiated signal on the basis of the display switching control signal at a zero level, and generates a speed modulating signal.

  • Patent number: 6429899
Abstract: A video signal of an interlaced scanning system having 525 scanning lines and a vertical scanning frequency of 60 Hz is converted to a video signal having 1050 scanning lines and a vertical scanning frequency of 120 Hz, for displaying an image by bidirectional scanning. A vertical synchronizing signal is subjected to offset processing by a ¼ horizontal scanning period when an odd field is started, thereby keeping interlaced relation between odd and even fields. The vertical synchronizing signal is subjected to offset processing by a ½ horizontal scanning period every frame, so that the scanning direction for each scanning line is reversed every frame.

  • Patent number: 5798863
Abstract: An image stabilized optical system includes a casing, an objective system, an eyepiece system, a gimbal connected to the casing via a shaft and capable of oscillating, an erect prism attached to the gimbal, a motor attached to the gimbal, an inertial rotor supported by a rotating rod of the motor, and a damper attached to the gimbal. The damper includes a viscoelastic member and has a first end attached to the gimbal and a second, free end spaced from the casing and the shaft. An image can be highly stabilized by efficiently suppressing in the damper vibrations (resonance) generated in the gimbal. Further, size, weight, and cost reductions, and easy manufacture of an image stabilized optical system are attained.

  • Patent number: 4789891
Abstract: A solid image pickup element is adhesively attached via a spacer to the light leaving end of a color separation prism which is employed in a television camera to separate the light of an object from an optical lens system into a plurality of wavelength band components. The spacer has at least one surface to be engaged with either the color separation prism or the solid image pickup element, and the engagement surface is inclined relative to the light leaving optical axis of the prism. Therefore, a single spacer can be satisfactorily utilized for different clearances between the prism and the solid image pickup element.

  • Patent number: 4784469
Abstract: A beam splitter of a color imaging equipment includes three prism blocks for red, green and blue channels, connecting members for connecting the red channel prism block and the blue channel prism block via an air-gap, and supporting plates for supporting these prism blocks. The connecting members have the same or smaller expansion coefficient as the prism blocks. The supporting plates are connected to the green channel prism block, and substantially not connected to the red and blue channel prism blocks and the connecting members. Consequently, the air-gap between the red and blue channel prism blocks are not affected by the expansion/shrinkage of the supporting plates, and thereby the registration characteristic is improved.

  • Patent number: 4639099
Abstract: An optical instrument such as a binoculars has an eyepiece lens unit detachably mounted on an eyepiece mount and comprising an eyepiece lens assembly including an eyepiece lens and an image intensifier tube assembly separably coupled to the eyepiece lens assembly. The image intensifier tube assembly includes an image intensifier tube having a light-sensitive surface lying at the focal plane of the objective lens and a phosphor screen lying at the focal point of the eyepiece lens. When the optical instrument is used to enable the user to see a dark object, the eyepiece lens unit with the eyepiece lens assembly and the image intensifier tube assembly coupled together is attached to the eyepiece mount. For the user to see a bright object, the image intensifier tube assembly is detached from the eyepiece lens assembly, and the eyepiece lens assembly is attached directly to the eyepiece mount.
