  • Patent number: 4432330
Abstract: Exhaust gas recirculation system including an intake pressure operated control valve for controlling the amount of exhaust gas recirculated to the intake system and a suction pressure adjusting valve of a duty factor solenoid type for determining the suction pressure applied to the control valve. A control circuit is provided for applying an operating signal to the pressure adjusting valve. The control circuit is associated with a memory device having memories of duty factors adapted to be applied to the pressure adjusting valve and corresponding to various combinations of engine speed and engine intake pressure. The memory device further includes memories on duty factors with which the control valve starts to open under various intake suction pressure, and memories on compensation factors under various engine temperatures so that the duty factors are modified under a cold engine temperature in accordance with the intake suction pressure and the engine temperature.

  • Patent number: 4393840
Abstract: An automobile fuel control system for an automobile internal combustion engine includes a composition sensor for detecting the concentration of oxygen contained in the exhaust gases emitted from the engine, a mixing ratio control including a compensator for compensating for variations of the mixing ratio of the combustible air-fuel mixture being supplied to the engine, a temperature detector for detecting the temperature of the engine and for generating a first signal indicative of a first predetermined engine temperature and for generating a second signal indicative of a second predetermined engine temperature higher than the first predetermined engine temperature, and an exhaust gas recirculating system including an electromagnetically operated valve for selectively establishing and interrupting the communication between the exhaust passage and the fuel intake passage.

  • Patent number: 4370960
Abstract: An idle control system for an automobile internal combustion engine includes an idle control unit for controlling the operation of an electromagnetically operated actuator. While the engine has a combustible mixture intake passage leading to the engine and a throttle valve operatively positioned inside the mixture intake passage for controlling the flow of a combustible air-fuel mixture towards the engine, the actuator is utilized to adjust either the effective cross sectional area of a bypass air passage leading from the air source to the mixture intake passage at a position downstream of the throttle valve or the opening of the throttle valve, to control the engine speed during idling to a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4334515
Abstract: A temperature responsive, pressure operated diaphragm valve assembly for use in association with an automobile internal combustion engine comprises a valve housing having a working chamber on one side of a diaphragm member, a biasing spring used to urge the diaphragm member in one direction with a valving element held in position to close a fluid passage, one end of the fluid passage being communicated to the fuel intake system of the engine and the other end thereof communicated to a source of fluid medium, and a temperature sensor having a parameter, the magnitude of which is variable according to the magnitude of the ambient temperature. The temperature sensor also has a push rod axially movable in response to change in magnitude of the parameter, the movement of the push rod being in turn transmitted to the biasing spring to adjust the biasing force exerted thereby on the diaphragm member.

  • Patent number: 3992029
Abstract: A sport vehicle comprising a vehicle frame having a step on its upper surface and an upstanding handle rod at its front end. At the lower surface of the front of the frame a front wheel axle is mounted having a pair of front wheels at its ends, the middle portion of the axle being rotatably supported through a steering shaft having a negative caster angle, the vehicle frame and the front wheel axle being interconnected through a resilient member. A single rear wheel is mounted on the vehicle frame at the lower surface of the rear portion thereof. One of the three wheels can be a driving vehicle wheel in which case a pedal lever is swingably mounted on the frame for upwards and downwards movement to drive a longitudinally extending flexible member for reciprocation in forwardly and rearwardly direction.
