Patent number: 7088423Abstract: An edge exposing apparatus includes a photo detector and a lighting time measuring circuit for detecting a decrease in performance of light source units. The lighting time measuring circuit detects a ready state ((stabilization of luminous intensity) of the light source units, for example by measuring a lighting time for a startup (switch-on) of the light source units. When the measuring circuit detects a preset lighting time, or when the photo detector detects a luminous intensity below a preset value, the light source units are determined to have lowered performance, and are switched off. When a decrease in performance of one unit is detected, a replacement light source unit is started while continuing edge exposure with one or more other light source unit(s). When a ready state is detected, the edge exposure with the one light source unit is terminated (switch-off), and edge exposure is performed with the replacement light source unit.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2004Date of Patent: August 8, 2006Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuya Akiyama, Kenji Kamei, Kazuya Ono

Publication number: 20060038491Abstract: A discharge is initiated in a discharge space defined between the front glass substrate and the back glass substrate, whereby vacuum ultraviolet light is generated from a discharge gas filling the discharge space and excite phosphor layers. Each of the phosphor layers is formed of a firs phosphor having a resistance to an Xe resonance line, and absorbing the Xe resonance line and ultraviolet light in a longer wavelength range than the Xe resonance line and the Xe molecular beam but allowing the Xe molecular beam to pass through, and a second phosphor absorbing the Xe resonance line and the Xe molecular beam and generating ultraviolet light in a longer wavelength range than the Xe resonance line and the Xe molecular beam.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2005Publication date: February 23, 2006Applicant: Pioneer CorporationInventors: Kazuya Akiyama, Yo Hibino

Publication number: 20050258750Abstract: A phosphor layer is provided on a back glass substrate placed opposite a front glass substrate with a discharge space in between, and formed in a double-layer structure consisting of a first phosphor layer and a second phosphor layer having its surface covered by the first phosphor layer. The first phosphor layer is formed of materials that permit the passing-through of a xenon molecular beam but absorb a xenon resonance line in the vacuum ultraviolet light generated from a discharge gas by means of a discharge, and have a higher resistance to the resonance line than that of the second phosphor layer. The second phosphor layer is formed of materials that have, as compared with the first phosphor layer, a higher light-emission brightness based on the xenon molecular beam in the vacuum ultraviolet light generated from the discharge gas by means of the discharge.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2005Publication date: November 24, 2005Inventors: Kazuya Akiyama, Yukihiko Sugio, Yo Hibino

Patent number: 6937917Abstract: Provided is a substrate processing apparatus that can reduce power consumption, while maintaining throughput. In addition to a normal mode in which all units are activated, the apparatus is provided with an energy saving mode that is selectable. When the energy saving mode is selected, only essential units that are requisites for a substrate processing are activated and used in the substrate processing. If it is necessary to increase process efficiency, any additional unit may be activated and used in the processing. During standby, only an essential unit can be activated and the rest is halted, or alternatively, all units may be halted. The transition to the energy saving mode can occur when the standby state continues for a predetermined period of time after the normal mode is selected.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2003Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Publication number: 20050062951Abstract: An edge exposing apparatus includes a photo detector and a lighting time measuring circuit for detecting a decrease in performance of light source units. The same lighting time measuring circuit has a function to detect a ready state (i.e. stabilization of luminous intensity) of the light source units capable of performing edge exposure. When the lighting time measuring circuit detects a lighting time having reached a preset value, or when the photo detector detects a luminous intensity below a preset value, the light source units are determined to have lowered in performance, and are switched off. The lighting time measuring circuit measures a lighting time from a startup (switch-on) of the light source units, and when the lighting time reaches a preset value, the light source units are determined to have attained the ready state and edge exposure is started with the light source units.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2004Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventors: Kazuya Akiyama, Kenji Kamei, Kazuya Ono

Patent number: 5414532Abstract: An image reading device applies a series of image reading processing steps to an original cassette. Each original cassette can accommodate a plurality of originals, and has its own cassette identification signal. A plurality of the original cassettes are inserted into an automatic original feeding device, and they are delivered in succession to or from the image reading device. A cassette code identification unit detects the cassette identification signal of the original cassette to be supplied. Original data corresponding to an original identification signal, the cassette identification signal, and image processing conditions that correspond to each original are stored into an original data storage unit. An original code identification unit searches and extracts the original data relating to each original in the original cassette identified by the cassette identification signal.
