  • Patent number: 6741239
Abstract: Disclosed are an LCD power source control method and a control circuit thereof and an image forming apparatus having the control circuit. When a logic circuit voltage detecting circuit (voltage detecting means) detects a voltage drop of a power source of a power voltage +5V (logic circuit power source), a residual charge of a liquid crystal display (LCD) is forcibly discharged by an LCD power source control circuit (display voltage control means), whereby an LCD drive voltage can be caused to attenuate faster than the fall of the power source of the power voltage +5V (logic circuit power source) of a logic power source of the LCD, that is, a power source unit, therefore the liquid crystal display (LCD) will not be damaged.

  • Patent number: 6422174
Abstract: Disclosed is a poultry drinking water additive containing live bacteria of the genus Bacillus and monosaccharides, which can alleviate body weight loss of poultry for meat production after feed withdrawal before slaughter, and which can reduce harmful bacteria such as of the genus Salmonella in the intestine of poultry for meat production and layers during the period of fasting by feed withdrawal. Also disclosed are a method for orally administering the poultry drinking water additive to poultry, a method for alleviating body weight loss of poultry for meat production using this method, and a method for reducing harmful bacteria in the intestine of poultry for meat production or layers.

  • Patent number: 6097616
Abstract: A drive-voltage control device for a power-saving power-supply circuit provides a control voltage and a drive voltage to a load device connected thereto and controls the supply of the control voltage and the drive voltage so as to achieve a power-saving mode. The drive-voltage control device prevents the load device from being damaged due to on and off of the power-saving mode. The load device is driven by both the control voltage and the drive voltage. A switching element is provided to a power-supply line through which the drive voltage is supplied from the power-saving power-supply circuit to the load device. A timing control circuit controls a timing for switching the switching element so that the switching element is caused to be conductive when a predetermined period has passed after the supply of the control voltage to the load device is begun when the power-saving mode is turned off.

  • Patent number: 5863572
Abstract: A liquid feed containing 1.about.10% by weight of monosaccharide alone or in combination with 0.1.about.1.0% by weight of sodium bicarbonate is fed to broiler chicks, layers or breeders in the summer season, thereby preventing reduction of body weight increase rate in broiler chicks as well as reduction of egg production yield in layers or breeders, and further preventing the mortality of broiler chicks, layers or breeders caused by heatstroke. In addition a liquid feed containing 1.about.10% by weight of monosaccharide alone or in combination with 0.1.about.1.0% by weight of sodium bicarbonate is fed to layers in a later stage at an ordinary temperature or at lower temperature thereby preventing production of extra large eggs which does not meet standard requirements.

  • Patent number: 5450423
Abstract: Memory expansion using memory packages of different generations is performed without unnecessarily increasing the minimum memory capacity of a memory device and while obtaining a high error detecting ability and high reliability. In expanding the capacity of a memory device by using first generation 1M.times.1 bit IC memory packages, second generation 4M.times.4 bits IC memory packages, or third generation 16M.times.8 bits IC memory packages, the total code length is set to 40 bits, a 4's multiple, within a range longer than the total code length necessary for S4ED and shorter than the total code length necessary for S8ED, and a reduced code is used for enhancing the S8ED function. In this manner, wasteful first generation IC memory packages can be reduced in number, and the error detecting ability of a memory device using third generation memory packages can be retained substantially the same as that of a memory device using first generation memory packages.

  • Patent number: 5194879
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a laser beam scanning unit for scanning a recording medium in synchronism with a writing clock signal so that a dotted image is formed on the recording medium, a counter for carrying out a count operation in synchronism with the writing clock signal so that one count value or a plurality of count values determining a scanning area is/are obtained, a first controller for activating or inactivating the laser beam scanning unit based on one or the plurality of count values, a dip switch unit for specifying a dotting density, a second controller for controlling the frequency of the writing clock signal and/or a speed of scanning; and a changing unit for changing one or the plurality of count values, which should be obtained by the counter, based on the dotting density specified by the dip switch unit, so that the position of the scanning area with respect to the recording medium is constant even if the frequency of the writing clock signal and/or the scanning speed are changed
