  • Publication number: 20140197728
Abstract: A plasma display panel includes an effective display region and a non-display region disposed outside the effective display region. A front plate includes sustain electrodes and scan electrodes, over a region corresponding to the effective display region and a region corresponding to the non-display region. Each of the plurality of the sustain electrodes includes a first part, a second part disposed away from the first part, and a third part for electrically coupling the first part with the second part. Moreover, the each of the plurality of the sustain electrodes is such that each of the first part and the second part includes a detached part in the region corresponding to the non-display region. The detached parts included in one of the sustain electrodes are disposed at different positions from each other in an extension direction of the sustain electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20120049730
Abstract: A plasma display panel includes a front plate, a rear plate, and a bonding layer to bond the front plate to the rear plate. The front plate has a protective layer. The rear plate has a barrier rib. The protective layer includes a base layer. Aggregated particles are dispersed all over the base layer. The base layer contains a first metal oxide and a second metal oxide. Through an X-ray diffraction analysis, a peak of the base layer exists between a first peak of the first metal oxide, and a second peak of the second metal oxide. The first metal oxide and the second metal oxide are two kinds of oxides selected from a group consisting of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO. The rear plate has a barrier rib. The bonding layer bonds at least one part of the barrier rib to the protective layer.

  • Publication number: 20120052761
Abstract: A method for producing a plasma display panel including a base layer containing a metal oxide, and aggregated particles dispersed on the base layer includes the following process. A protective layer is formed on a dielectric layer. Then, a surface of the protective layer is sputtered. In addition, concentration ratios of a first metal oxide and a second metal oxide in the surface of the protective layer are changed by re-depositing a component of the sputtered protective layer.

  • Publication number: 20080266211
Abstract: A priming discharge is generated simultaneously in two adjacent priming discharge cells, and an address operation is performed sequentially in the main discharge cells in the odd rows of the four rows of main discharge cells which are adjacent to the priming discharge cells. After completion of the address operation in all main discharge cells in the odd rows, the priming discharge cells are once initialized. A priming discharge is generated again in the priming discharge cells, and an address operation is performed sequentially this time in the main discharge cells in the even rows which are adjacent to the priming discharge cells. This provides a PDP and a plasma display device which can stably generate an address discharge without narrowing the driving voltage margin of an address operation and reduce the number of driving circuits required for driving the priming electrodes, and also provides a method for driving the PDP.
