  • Publication number: 20050202782
Abstract: In the case where close range wireless communication is performed among a plurality of communication devices, when a predetermined connection operation is performed in a first communication device 10a, an inquiry message is wirelessly transmitted in order to discover a device to be connected by the wireless communication after restricting a transmissible distance to a close range; when a predetermined standby operation is performed in a second communication device 10b, the inquiry message is received and a response message to the received inquiry message is wirelessly transmitted; and when the response message is received, the first communication device 10a performs the connection processing with respect to the second communication device 10b.

  • Publication number: 20050020207
Abstract: The present invention relates to a radio communication apparatus and a radio communications method, a radio communication system, a recording medium, and a computer program in which a response signal to an inquiry is returned to a master only when instructions to perform radio communications are issued. A CPU 51 blinks LED 56 when an inquiry signal is received, and transmits a response to the inquiry signal when a user who has referred to lighting of the LED 56 operates a connection response button 53. The connection response button 53 is operated when the user issues radio communications instructions with respect to the inquiry signal. In other words, even when wireless headphones 2 are within an area capable of radio communications with the master, only if the connection response button 53 is operated by the user, it sends to the master a response to the inquiry, and establishes connection.

  • Publication number: 20040203359
Abstract: When wireless communications are performed with other communication devices, an inquiry message to discover other communication devices residing in the vicinity is wirelessly transmitted by having communication ranges altered at a plurality of stages; response messages to the transmitted inquiry message are received; information relating to a receiving state or frequency of receipt of the response messages from the respective communication ranges is preserved with respect to each communication device which is a source of the response message; and based on the preserved information relating to the receiving state or the frequency of receipt of the response messages a communication device to be a connection object for wireless communication is selected. By doing so, when short-range wireless communications are performed, communication services can be performed appropriately between required devices.

  • Patent number: 5874920
Abstract: A built-in antenna mounting structure for portable radio equipment, including a shield chassis formed of molded resin, whose surface except an antenna mounting surface is treated with a conductive material, a printed wiring board mounted on the shield chassis and having a transmitting/receiving circuit, and a built-in antenna formed from a metal plate and mounted on the antenna mounting surface of the shield chassis. The built-in antenna has a platelike antenna element and an elastic short-circuit plate for short-circuiting the antenna element to the shield chassis. The shield chassis is held at an edge portion thereof between the short-circuit plate and the antenna element, thereby mounting the built-in antenna on the shield chassis.
