  • Patent number: 11298269
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses configured to bond elastic laminates together between a rotating drum and anvil. The drum includes a fluid nozzle and a press member. As such, a first elastic laminate and a second elastics laminate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating drum. A fluid is heated to a temperature sufficient to partially melt substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates. As the drum rotates, the press member shifts radially outward from the drum wherein a length, L, of the pattern surface extends in the cross direction across a plurality of elastic strands of first and/or second elastic laminates. And the partially melted portion of the substrate layers of the first and second elastic laminates and the plurality of elastic strands are then bonded together by being compressed between the pattern surface and the anvil roll.

  • Publication number: 20180054617
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an image coding device and a method that permit stable transfer of image data for long hours. A budget determination part generates power/band budget information, information serving as a basis for coding process control, using, as inputs, power output information, remaining battery charge information, and communicable band information and supplies the generated power/band budget information to a coding control section. The coding control section generates an image coding scheme and coding parameter/mode from the power/band budget information from the budget determination part and supplies compression control information including the image coding scheme and the coding parameter/mode to an image compression device. The present disclosure is applicable, for example, to a camera system that handles coding.

  • Publication number: 20170143556
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for rejecting defective absorbent articles from a converting line. At a downstream portion of a converting process, a continuous length of absorbent articles may be subjected to a final knife and cut to create discrete absorbent articles advancing on a first carrier. From the first carrier, the discrete absorbent articles may be transferred to a transfer apparatus, which in turn, transfers the discrete absorbent articles to a second carrier. The transfer apparatus may include carrier members that orbit around an axis of rotation and may be adapted to receive the absorbent articles from the first carrier and transfer the absorbent articles to the second carrier. Defective absorbent articles may be detected by an inspection system, which may be operably connected with the transfer apparatus and/or the first carrier to remove the defective absorbent articles from the converting process.
