    Abstract: A blower is provided for effectively cooling heat generating parts in a casing of a personal computer and so on, with a heat sink apparatus using the blower and an electronic equipment using the heat sink apparatus. The blower comprises a fan and an outer frame. The outer frame of the fan is made of a highly thermally conductive material such as aluminum. A radiation board is fixed to or formed integrally with a lower surface of the outer frame. Heat generated from a heat generating device is conveyed through the radiation board to the outer frame. The blower is provided with radiation fins so that the heat conveyed to the outer frame is transferred to the radiation fins as well.

    Abstract: An electronic apparatus system comprises a portable computer and an extension device for expanding the function of the portable computer. The extension device includes a base, which has a mounting portion on which the portable computer is removably mounted, an exhaust port opened in the mounting portion of the base and a fan unit housed in the base and arranged to supply cooling air to the exhaust port. The base has a plurality of convex portions formed in a bottom wall that extend upward towards the exhaust port and form a foreign matter capturing region in the base. The base includes an exhaust passage for channeling cooling air from the fan over the bottom surface of the portable computer. The fan unit is inclined so that the axis of rotation is tilted toward the opening in the side wall of the mounting portion at the end of the exhaust passage.

A second gap is provided between each heat-conducting section and the heat-receiving section in which the heat-conducting section is inserted. The first gap and the second gap are filled with grease having viscosity. The grease thermally connects the first heat sink and the second heat sink.

    Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided with a base unit and a display unit. The base unit has an opening formed on the upper surface. The display unit incorporates a display device and supported by the base unit. The display unit is rotatable between a first position where it is tilted down in such a manner as to cover the upper surface of the base unit and a second position where it is raised in such a manner as to expose the upper surface. The display unit includes a projection portion which is inserted into the opening when the display unit is rotated to the first position. A switch for turning the display device on or off is arranged inside the base unit. The switch includes an operation element opposed to the opening of the base unit. When the display unit is rotated to the first position, the operation element is pushed by the projection portion, thereby turning off the display device.

Arranged on the carrying surface are guide rails that guide the casing in movement along the directions of connection and disconnection of the connectors. The expansion adapter includes locking members, which are swingable between a locking position in which they project from the carrying surface and an unlocking position in which they are situated below the carrying surface.
