Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes: a processing unit that executes a process related to an image; an acquisition unit that acquires a first key and a second key including a restriction condition; a transition unit that transitions from a first operation mode to a second operation mode when the first key is acquired; a counting unit that counts usage of the processing unit; and a restricting unit that restricts execution of the process by the processing unit in the second operation mode according to a relationship between the counted usage and the restriction condition included in the acquired second key.

Abstract: A remote power-supply control method allowing the burdens on the host computer with power-supply control of a plurality of network printers to be reduced is disclosed. After assigning priorities to the printers, at each of the printers, an address of another printer having a next-lower priority assigned thereto is stored. When a power-supply control signal has been received, the main power supply thereof is controlled depending on the power-supply control signal and the power-supply control signal is sent to the other printer having the next-lower priority assigned thereto.

Abstract: A video data processor disposed in addition to a printer controller includes a video data leading edge sensor for receiving a video signal of characters and objects and attaining therefrom a leading edge of video data, a contour display controller for generating data representing a contour on the basis of the leading edge data, a pattern display controller including pattern storage sections for keeping therein a plurality of display pattern data items and a pattern selector for selecting a predetermined display pattern item from the plural display pattern data items, and a logic circuit for producing a modulated video signal from data outputted from the contour display controller and data created from the pattern display controller and outputting the modulated video signal therefrom. Thanks to this configuration, consecutive dot data can be represented as a regular pattern.
