Abstract: A system and method for translating character strings into another national language and displaying the translated character strings without updating any source code. The character strings are displayed on GUI environment upon the execution of the object computer program. The method for displaying character strings on GUI environment provided by a computer program comprises the steps of; (a) providing an executable program; (b) providing a text file including the character strings and being openable with the executable program; (c) executing the executable program (301); (d) retrieving the text file from the executable program (307); and (e) displaying the character strings included in the opened text file (315).

Abstract: A method, program and an information processing apparatus to control a communication device having a plurality of communication modes which are different from each other in power consumption and communication rate, the program enabling the information processing apparatus to work as a communication throughput measuring section for measuring a communication throughput with which the communication device communicated in a predetermined reference period in the past, and a communication mode setting section for setting the communication mode of the communication device to a communication mode with lower power consumption and lower communication rate as compared with that of a communication mode set in a case where the communication throughput is higher, if the measured communication throughput is lower.

Abstract: The current invention proposes a method, system, and data processing system program product to perform a hardware setup operation without installing a hardware setup program on the target data processing system. Stored in a server 12 are a hardware setup program 15 for performing the hardware setup of a data processing system 14 to be set up for hardware, dynamic link modules 16 for hardware setup used by the program 15 at the time of executing the hardware setup program, and a small program 17. The data processing system 14 accesses the server 12 through a network 11 to execute the small program 17 on the server 12. The program 17 transfers the dynamic link modules 16 for hardware setup to the data processing system 14, and thereafter it executes the hardware setup program 15 on the memory of the data processing system 14 while maintaining the program itself on the server 12.
