  • Patent number: 5134940
Abstract: A self-propelled platform car (SPPC) type conveying system for moving a platform car on a running surface along a predetermined path, which comprises a SPPC having at least three steerable wheels disposed respectively at the front and at the back of the SPPC, at least one of the wheels being motor driven, a guide rail disposed below the predetermined path, front and back steering trolleys having steering means engaged with the guide rail for steering the steering trolleys thereby, and front and rear steering transmitting means for transmitting steering from a steering trolley to a corresponding wheel on one side of the car, the steering transmitting means having coupling members extending substantially vertically along a side of the rolling track.

  • Patent number: 5123357
Abstract: The present invention is based on the critically important feature of providing a left-right parallel arranged linear motor-based conveying system in which the upper surfaces of the guide rails do double duty as providing the rolling surfaces for the wheel pairs, and also as being secondary (reaction) conductor surfaces for the linear motors, and the linear motors are spaced closely above the upper surfaces of the guide rails by a predetermined clearance.

  • Patent number: 4671183
Abstract: A cart type conveying apparatus comprising a guide rail having a substantially U-shaped section and including upper and lower horizontal extensions, and a conveyor cart including trolleys guided by the guide rail. The upper and lower extensions define guide grooves, respectively. Supporting wheels and centering rollers attached to lower positions of the trolleys are fitted in the guide grooves defined in the lower extension, and retaining wheels and centering rollers attached to upper positions of the trolleys are fitted in the guide groove defined in the upper extension.

  • Patent number: 4545303
Abstract: A monorail conveyor system in which an automotive cart comprising a drive wheel, a drive motor for driving the drive wheel, a gear case where output of the driving motor is reduced, and centering rollers rotatable on vertical axes, receives electric currents and control signals from a hollow rail and travels along the hollow rail. The driving motor has an output shaft extending in the forward-rearward direction of travel.
