Abstract: To confirm the proper attachment of a biopsy needle attachment and to detect the type of the attached attachment, the body unit determines the proper attachment of the attachment if all bar-code readers of the ultrasound probe reads successfully the bar-code of the attachment at the opposing position, to display a guideline corresponding to the type of the attachment on the display unit, otherwise the body unit determines improper attachment of the attachment to the ultrasound probe and warns of the improper attachment.

Abstract: In order to facilitate the operation and improve the operating efficiency, after a body mark indicating the shape of the imaging region of an examinee is displayed on the display screen, the coordinate positions of the body mark displayed on the display screen are input. The operation of an ultrasound diagnosis apparatus is then controlled based on the input coordinate positions of the body mark.

Abstract: An ultrasonic system and method for automatic control of the start of an interval scan without a burden on an operator and automatic control of interval period in an interval scan without performing a preliminary interval scan, an interval scan will be controlled using a sufficiently intense ultrasound to dissipate a contrast agent, by monitoring a dispersion or mean brightness value of pixels in an entire image or part thereof obtained by scanning for every short period of time with a weak ultrasound so as not to dissipate the contrast agent.

Abstract: In order to facilitate ultrasonic imaging in a proper condition, a correlation value is calculated between a new image frame and a previous image frame each time the new image frame is obtained; and the acoustic line density of a scan is increased/decreased, the dynamic range of echo reception is enlarged/reduced, and the frame averaging intensity of an image frame is raised/lowered in response to an increase/decrease of the correlation value.
