  • Patent number: 8671152
Abstract: A multiprocessor system is provided for emulating remote direct memory access (RDMA) functions. The first sub-processing unit (SPU) generates a message to be transmitted. The second SPU is a processor for emulating the RDMA functions. Upon receiving a notification from the first SPU, the second SPU synthesizes the message into a packet according to a RDMA protocol. The third SPU is a processor for performing a TCP/IP protocol processing. Upon receiving a notification from the second SPU, the third SPU synthesizes the packet generated according to the RDMA protocol into a TCP/IP packet and then sends it out from a network interface card.

  • Patent number: 8483435
Abstract: A situation data obtaining unit obtains situation data describing a situation of an image capturing target of which image is captured by an image capturing device for producing an image to be output. Based on the situation data, a simulation process executing unit carries out a simulation process for simulating a behavior of the image capturing target after the situation of the image capturing target, described by the situation data. A combined screen image output unit outputs a result of the simulation process by the simulation process executing unit. The simulation process executing unit changes the behavior of the image capturing target in the simulation process in response to an operation received from a user.

  • Patent number: 8175116
Abstract: A network processing apparatus is provided. A send buffer receives from a protocol stack a long packet with a data length exceeding a maximum transmission unit defined for a network and stores the long packet. A payload dividing unit divides the payload of the long packet into a plurality of divided payloads. A header duplicating unit duplicates the header of the long packet so as to generate a duplicated header for the respective divided payload. A short packet generating unit attaches the duplicated header to the respective divided payload so as to generate a short packet with a data length equal to or less than the maximum transmission unit to be sent to the network. A sending unit sends the short packet to the network via a physical interface.

  • Patent number: 7783810
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided. Plural processors respectively execute separate operating systems to process data that has been received from a network. The apparatus includes receiving device that receives the data in predetermined units from the network and analyzing device that analyzes identification data added to the data received by the receiving device. The apparatus also includes maintaining device which maintains a table that relates the identification data to information on identification of an interrupt register in each of the processors that execute the operating systems. The apparatus further includes interrupting device that allows interrupt processing to any of the processors to occur by writing the data received with the receiving device into the interrupt register that is related to the identification data, which is identified on the based of the table maintained by the maintaining device, analyzed by the analyzing device.

  • Patent number: 7072583
Abstract: An optical communication apparatus in which bidirectional communication may be made over a sole optical fiber. A light emitting device (132) radiates light through an optical system (133) to an optical fiber (76). The light transmitted from the optical fiber (76) is received over optical system (133) by a light receiving device (136). In the optical system (133), such a relationship S?2QN?M>S/2Q?N is set, where M is the light volume of the stray light emitted, Q is the value of a Q-value representing the communication quality as required, S is the light volume of a received signal from a communication partner and N is the sum total of the Gaussian noise.

  • Patent number: 6700855
Abstract: A light emitted from a light source (11) or a return light from a magneto-optical discs (7a, 7b, 7c or 7d) is transmitted by a polarization maintaining optical fibers (15a, 15b, 15c or 15d). Phase difference generators (16a, 16b, 16c and 16d) are disposed in optical paths, respectively, for these light beams to generate a phase difference which is used to cancel, or multiply by an integer multiple of &pgr;, a phase difference between field vibration components, raised in the light due to the birefringence of the polarization maintaining optical fiber (15a, 15b, 15c or 15d) when the light is propagated through the latter.

  • Publication number: 20030175028
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and techniques for hitlessly accessing an original data signal include provisioning a duplicate of the original signal at a provisioning location. The duplicate signal is sent to a switching location that has been transmitting the original signal, but which hitlessly switches to transmitting the duplicate signal instead. The original signal is accessed at an access location where the original signal is altered. The altered signal is sent to the switching location which again hitlessly switches from transmitting the duplicate signal to transmitting the altered signal. Implementation in an optical network allows wavelengths to be dropped at nodes in the network without network hits being incurred which would disrupt service or otherwise result in system downtime.
