  • Patent number: 5833320
Abstract: A vehicle seat reduces the amount of vibrations from the vehicles engine or riding surface felt by the rider, without sacrificing the comfort and fitness of the seat. The seat desirably includes a shock-absorbing member layered with a urethane cushion member. The shock-absorbing material comprises a viscoelastic material using a super-soft urethane elastomer as a matrix resin with a low density filler of resinous microballoons. The percent weight ratio between the resinous microballoons and the resin matrix advantageously ranges from 1% to 5%. In order to provide adequate damping without presenting too hard of a feel, the viscoelastic material desirable has a normal storage modulus (E.sub.1) ranging between 0.0628 MPa and 0.234 MPa, and a normal loss modulus (E.sub.2) ranging between 0.0171 MPa and 0.131 MPa.

  • Patent number: 5327715
Abstract: An aluminum alloy chain is formed from welded loops of aluminum rod that constitute the individual links of the chain. During welding, a weld bead is produced by fusing opposed ends of bent aluminum alloy rod stock and pressing the ends together while fused to create a weld bead that extends beyond the perimeter of the rod stock, at least in a direction towards the inside of the link. The aluminum alloy chain can be anodized entirely or at selected intervals to provide a colorful chain or to provide a measurement of the length of the chain. The chain is particularly adapted for use with anchors used in connection with nautical vessels.

  • Patent number: 4500134
Abstract: This disclosure relates to improvements in a dental treatment chair assembly including a unit table having various instruments attached thereto in combination with a unit arm mechanism. The assembly is so constructed that the unit arm mechanism is made slidable in the direction of the mechanism crossing (preferably at right angles with) the body axis of the chair. Such construction makes it possible to meet the convenience of both a doctor and a nurse in their operation of the instruments in dental treatment.

  • Patent number: 4353595
Abstract: A headrest control device for a treatment chair in which the headrest contains a linkage capable of raising and lowering a head supporting portion of the headrest in synchronized interlocking relationship with the tilting of the headrest. The device facilitates the bringing of the head supporting portion into firm contact with the rear neck region of the patient thereby making it possible for him to open his mouth in a natural posture when he undergoes oral treatment with the backrest of the treatment chair being held approximately horizontal and the headrest being slightly forwardly tilted.
